My FLGS is hosting an 1,850pt Maelstrom tournament in three weeks. Wanted to try and get my Necron army built up as soon as possible so I could join up. With everything I currently have in my collection, I have an 1,850pt army list ready to go. Here's what I got:


Necron Decurion Detachment:

- Reclamation Legion

HQ: Overlord w/ Warscythe, Gauntlet of Fire, Phase Shifter, and Resurrection Orb

Troops:
- 10 Immortals w/ Gauss Blasters
- 2x 10 Necron Warriors
- 15 Necron Warriors

Elite: 5 Lychguard w/ Hyperphase Swords and Dispersion Shields

Fast Attack: 3 Tomb Blades w/ Particle Beamers, Shield Vanes, and Nebuloscopes

- Judicator Battalion: 2x 5 Praetorians and 1 Stalker

- Deathmarks


Necron Combined Arms Detachment:

HQ: Lord w/ Staff of Light and Phase Shifter

Troops: 2x 5 Immortals

Fast Attack: 5 Scarabs


This list is going off the Necrons I currently own. I will be getting some extra cash in the next week or two that I can blow on more Necrons if I need to.

Your opinions/suggestions?

Field the immortals as 2 squads of 5 instead of 1 squad of 10. Not much else to say about the list honestly. For what you've got, it's pretty solid.

In my experience, foot-slogging Necrons just aren't quite good enough. Consider getting some Night Scythes or Ghost Arks.

Maelstrom missions are all about mobility and objectives. I think switching to entirely a CAD would be better than a Decurion. I only say this because you already know what type of missions you're going to play. Objective Secured blobs can camp on objectives, scoring points and denying your opponent of those points. If they're not objective secured, then your opponent can use a fast and cheap unit to throw at the objective and snag/deny points. They might lose their unit in the following turn but it doesn't matter because they got the points they wanted.

You can keep the Judicator Battalion and just make everything else part of a CAD. If you have the models, swap the Lychguard for Wraiths, more Tomb Blades, or Ghost Arks. Lychguard are great at denying kill points and holding a relic but Maelstrom has none of these things.
