In my very first real game. I dont count the learning demo. Some of the regulars helped me build a list.

It was 5th ed so you can mix units with different marks

Lord, mark of Slaanesh, Daemon weapon = Bliss Giver

5 Plague marines with 2 meltaguns, champ with meltabomb and combi flamer in a rhino with a havoc missile launchers
5 plague marines same load out

all at 500pts or something

Vs the Owner of the Store

Ork boss
2 unit if boyz with boss pole and power klaw leader
1 truk
Killer Can

Turn 1,

He moved up everything and ran with boyz and kan

I moved rhinos and shot hml and killed a bunch of boyz

Turn 2
He moved closer and charged my rhinos. In 5th ed, there were no hp so all he did was glance. The power klaw did wreck one rhino.

I rammed with last rhino and penetrated one truk and it explodes and hurts his boyz. The disembarked plague marines shot flame template and rapid fired and wiped a squad of boyz.

The other squad in rhino shot melta at killer kan and it exploded.

Turn 3

He charged everything at the plague marines. He had waagh but blight grenades nerfed the boyz a bit. 2 plague marines died but I was able to kill a few boyz.

I disembarked the other squad with lord. I charged. Slaanesh lord handed out 9 instant death wounds at i5 killing all the boyz and his warlord.

Game over.

Of course I did not really win. The guy who helped me build my list was actually telling me what to do. The store owner was pissed off. Red in the face but kept his composure. The guy said to the owner , "Chillout, it was not the newbie you lost to. It was me you was fighting."

I am tell you all this because that is the real reason why I like wh40k. To see people red in the face but act civil and polite.

and I hope that somewhere out there, whos person's name I forgot long ago, thank you for showing me that side of 40k...

You should see the other thread he started about angering people. It's hilarious

It was a long shot to re connnect with the person who got me really into wh40k. Maybe someday I will be able to help a newbie make his list and piss off a store owner.

back in 5th ed, Lash if submission caused so much hate.
