Depends on the list, but drop pods or rhinos most of the time.

I prefer drop pods. They just fit my list a whole lot better than the alternatives.

Thank you for the replies so far. When taking Razorbacks what do you equip them with.

What do you mean plasma/las because if that is twenty points like most razorback options it sounds op as hell.

It's a twin-linked plasmagun and a single lascannon. It's pretty good but the downside is that if you move at all, one of the two weapons is snap-firing.

For me, it depends what I'm using. If I've got Plasmaguns or Heavies, I'd take a Rhino. If I've got Flamers, I'd probably take a Razorback. If Melta, probably pod.
They each have their bonuses.

Not the best choice these days but I still love my Rhinos. Cheap and one of the few transports in the game that doesn't bother trying to be anything else which I like.

typically i fight orks so i thought razorbacks would be good but i found good old rhinos worked well when i teamed them in threes, ram the orks and deploy with devs to take out the tanks, 2 squads a generally suicide and i have i assault squad with no jumpppacks to take out any boys that stray near. i also love drop podding against tau with tacticals and taking out pathfinders

I like heavy bolter Razorbacks, they are cheap and have good supporting firepower.
The trouble with either type of lascannon Razorback is that not only does it cost a lot but it has a much higher threat value. So they tend to die rather quickly. You cant save a Razorback if the opponent wants to shoot it, keep your lascannon in the infantry squads and use your Razorbacks to supplement anti-horde firepower.

Do assault cannon Razorbacks fall into the same category. Automatically Appended Next Post: Or are they less scary

In the Iron Wolves, I go Razorbacks (for free options) otherwise I prefer Assault vehicles honestly. (Space Wolves lol)
Rhino's are cool for their 2 access points, to use Witchfire or Heavy weapons from. Great for keeping valuable stuff alive longer, requiring initially heavy weapons to crack the armor, then spilling troops out behind the wreck and providing screen/cover for further mitigation.
Pods are supreme for objectives based games, and also for getting behind armor values.
Razorbacks are just so expensive, and deny the troops inside from shooting their own compliment of weapons (which is like paying for something without being able to use it!) so i'm tempted to field cheap squads for capping objectives, for which are only at most 6 men - even in power armor they get melted away from firepower against them in those numbers (and being unable to put Terminators inside).

As a GK/Inq player only, I don't even have access to pods, and Razorbacks are one of the only ways for me to field lascannons. Rhinos are cool for shooting Purifying Flame out of, but that's about all they offer for me.
My favorite loadout is from the Inquisition codex: either HB or Assault Cannon + psybolt ammo, maybe a SB if points allow. Goes a long way to protect those small psyker batteries and bolter acolytes while still offering some ranged damage.

If I could only use one, I would use Razorbacks, but I tend to use a mixture of Pods and Razorbacks. Keep pods stock, and the razors if in a GSF. If not, LasPlas is the only other way I go.

I used to use drop pods all the time, but I'm finding it easier to squeeze in rhinos here and there with more flexibility.
