Hi folks,

I'm keen to start a new chapter and interested in your opinions on it. This is more for painting and writing rather than playing. So far, this is what i know i want;

Super grimdark
Ultramarine successors
Sniper/stealth heavy
Quarter panel painted
Otherwise unknown to avoid fluff conflict
Hard/fun to paint

The colours I came up with were as attached, black and blue quartered, I'd love to hear suggestions though. Chapter names have been completely elusive though, best i managed was Angels Azure, but I'm not overly sold.

Comments greatly appreciated!

Like the colour scheme, though make sure the contrast is not too stark or it will make the lovely idea look weird. As for a name, how about the Black Cadre? Never been good at naming so feel free to reject.

Black Cadre doesn't do it for me, but made me think of Shadow Cabal / Shadow Knights

I don't like separate shoulder trim colors. What about the dark wardens

just my two sense, I would make the black shoulder pad trim white and the blue kneepad red
cheers!

When in doubt, kick the nearest grot.
Have a good night everyone.

My issue is whenever I see something pure black I assume it's just an undercoat and not based yet. Maybe make it a very dark shade of gray, or have some deep, deep blue hues in there.

Yeah the shoulder trim in red is the company color, the knee pad is the squad - i want to represent those somehow.

The black would be mostly a dark grey

Dark wardens is pretty nice

Dark wardens sounds OK.
I thought of Night Watch, but that might be taken

The black/blue colour theme might indicate the turn from daylight to night, so perhapsTwilight Guard, or Dawn Breakers.
Im old enough to think "twilight zone", rather than "twilight saga" though, so it might set of the wrong signals.

If you want to make the paint job more interresting/advanced as well as more grimdark, you could ad black scripture/oaths of loyalty
on the blue parts, or likewise white scripture on the dark side.
Some freehand scribbles on the armour always ad a sense of grimdark and interest to the models in my oppinion.

Nice, dawn breakers sounds sweet. Also i was intending to have the black completely bare of decoration aside from squad type markings, the blue side is for that. Definitely intend on trying more freehand though

I like the Twilight name suggestion very much.

"Twilight Crusaders"?

What is the website where you can test your color combinations? Google is not being very helpful. Thanks!
