Thinking of getting a Chaos Lord, now are they worth the 210pts(8th edition) or should I get another unit? Be free to say! But do put down their points, and what I should give them too with the points separate! It'll be a big help for me!

Chaos Lords on foot I'd say no, they'll never make enough combat to make their points back. Chaos Lords on a Daemonic Steed, Juggernaught or Disk of Tzeentch are worth it, they're likely to make combat and carve through what they hit.

Killing power is not something WoC lack. Nor is leadership something they are missing either. A Chaos Lord, if taken, needs to get into CC as quickly as possible. So having him on foot is not ideal.

It would be best to go for another unit unless you plan on putting him on a fast mount.

A naked chaos lord isn't worth it...

on the other hand the Hortense build was the single most resilient and devastating thing we could put on the field:

MoT, Great Weapon, Talisman of Preservation, CoC, Disk and Eye of Tzeentch... roughly 380points that were essentially unassailable.

Ah good times!
