So I currently have 7 Leman Russ, They are all the old old models....meaning Battle cannon hull lscannon and sponson heavy bolters.

They were all assembled before there were any other variants besides the LRBT and the demolisher. I do have one demolisher from the old school pewter upgrade, although it still has the LC and HB sponsons, and one converted into a Vanquisher which I took the sponsons off.

That being said I would like to convert some of the others into Eradicators, with HB in the hull.

Has anyone done this? is there a cheap easy way to do this?

Most people would recommend buying the bitz and just cutting the barrel and gluing on the appropriate gun. simplest way.

Eradicators can be easily gotten if you know someone with a few baneblades. The Hellhammer cannon is the same as the Eradicator gun and can pretty much be glued right on with a bit of cutting.

I do have a hellhammer cannon laying around but I think its much bigger.

Any ideas for the Hull HB?

Also from what I have read the new turrets for russ kits are smaller than the old versions. Can anyone confirm this? will I be able to just lop off a barrel and stick a new eradicator barrel on?

How'd you take off the sponsons

An exacto knife and pressure. I basically cut/broke where they were originally glued on.

Older Turrets can take the new barrels, but they can't fit the new Mantel plates in, there's not enough room.

I currently have two older Leman Russes that I'm just swapping the main guns out on, it's not a ugly idea at all to just stick the newer guns in there.

The newer turret has a smaller mounting ring, but is actually larger then the older turrets in their size, you could always buy a whole turret and fit a plastic dowel to fit into the older turret slot, maybe a small stack of washer would do the trick.
