I just bought me an ipad, and im wondering if there are any must have 40k apps, or apps for tabletop gaming in general?

Any dice rolling app would probably be incredibly handy.

I like to roll real dice instead of watching to a screen during the game. There never have been issues with the random feed of my dice, and they dont draw me away from the game.
So no apps for during the game for me, but you might like some army builder / battle scribe like apps and something that reads e books or pdf's no idea how these are called in the apple store..

Other than battlescribe, I find nothing is really needed.
And battlescrib is mostly pre-game.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

Here are a couple apps I use:

BattleScribe (list builder)
Dice! (dice simulator)
Mathhammer 40k (quick probabilities, vehicle Pen table is not current though)
RollHammer - Scatter die (scatter simulator)

Battlescribe is a good, free listbuilder app.
I use GoodReader as a file/pdf reader application. Not sure if there is a better one out there these days, but it was highly recommended when I got my iPad.
Dropbox for swapping files around.
While a bit on the pricy side once you start adding books, HeroLab is a very nice program for playing Pathfinder (and I think other RPGs). You can install it on a handful of devices (5 I think) so you could potentially split a license with someone.
GW has a news app. Free, and basically an add delivery system, but sometimes you get free wallpapers, and the news isn’t completely useless.
Grab a calculator app.

Cosign on battle scribe. The army summaries make for an easy refrence. There is also Rules40k which has many if jot all of the special rules psychic powers and a basic d6 dice roller

I prefer Quartermaster over battlescribe. Most useful app that is.

I use Battlescribe to build my list. Make sure to validate against an actual codex, though. It isn't perfect (latest version seems to think Venerable Dreadnoughts are required in a Battle Demi-Company).

2000 Khorne Bloodbound (Skullfiend Tribe- Aqshy)
1000 Tzeentch Arcanites (Pyrofane Cult - Hysh) in progress
2000 Slaves to Darkness (Ravagers)
