Hey all,

So I usually play BA. But after reading mechanicum really want to get some skitarii figures and mesh them into my BA Army. The start collecting skitarii box looks great and coming with the Dominus Maniple Formation I thought why not just get that and fit it into a 1500 list of BA/Skitarii. I'm more of a narrative player but always like my lists to have enough about them to stand tough against more competitive players. My meta is mainly necrons, eldar and space wolves with a little tau here and there. How do you guys and gals think this list would do and what changes would you recommend.

Flesh Tearers Strike Force
HQ:
Sang Priest with Valours Edge and Grav pistol (in drop pod with sternguard)

Elites:
5 Sternguard with combi-meltas (using a drop pod)
5 Terminators with a heavy flamer
5 terminators with an assault cannon

Troops:
5 Sniper Scouts

Fast Attack:
3 x Drop Pods (2 with locator beacons)

Heavy Support:
Predator

Skitarii/Mechanicum Dominus Maniple:

Tech Priest Dominus (power axe and volkite blaster) (in the drop pod with sternguard)
10 Skitarii Vanguard with 3 Plasma Calivers and an Omnispex
Onegar Dunecrawler (eradication beamer)

Officio Assassinorum Detachment:
Vindicare Assassin

My thinking with this list is to deploy the Onegar Dunecrawler and the Predator. Infiltrate the Scout Snipers and Vindicare camped in some ruins or cover near an objective marker. These units give me a decent firebase to start the game with. Then on turn One, two of the drop pods (with locator beacons) containing the Skitarii Vanguard in one and the sternguard plus the sang priest and tech priest dominus in the other come down and try and neutralise 2 units as best they can. Then on turn 2 hopefully the 2 squads of terminators come in using the locator beacons on the turn one drop pods to not scatter and cause some havoc, whilst the last drop pod can just be used to secure linebreaker or an objective if the dice are on my side.

Thoughts?

I dont think you will get much use out of the weapon upgrades for your priest, you ideally dont want your sternguard in melee.

You could use the points to upgrade your Onager to have the heavy phosphor blaster, for more reduced cover and better charges for your terminators.

Also I would put your DOminus with the vanguard, he can tank the ounds for them with his 2+ (yeah he drops to T3 but it will make them a ton more survivable, and he can always fix himself.") Also that will make sure they are always in range to benefit from the formations special rule, for those rerolls on the plasma.

The tech priest will be joining the vanguard as soon as the drop pods hit. I just put him in the sternguard pod to keep the vanguard as a ten man squad so i could get 3 plasma callivers.

Will probably take valours edge away from the priest it was more a precautionary take as they always get charge by something usually. But will probably revise him to have a plasma and a gravpistol so he's gunslinging. Or give the onager the heavy phosphor like you said to help the terminators out. You're choice is better there i think.

Cheers
