I was reading through the rules for ECPA, and could not figure out why would anyone want to use that system if you cannot use it on riptides
when you can just get twin linked gears... re-rolling 1 is helpful, but not in anyway even cost effective with 30pt when it is only affecting the model with
that particular system.
I would love to know if I am missing out on something and if ECPA has some usefulness left to it

You cannot use it on normal Riptides. If you take The Eight, however, O'Vesa comes equipped with it as standard--meaning nobody else can take it.

Also if I'm going to be really honest, there's no hard and fast rule that every single Relic equivalent needs to be useful or worth its points values.

Its a good Relic that makes up the points
Sadly you cannot use it on GWs Riptides
However FWs Riptides are still A-OK to have it
I wonder if you could put it onto a Ta'unar......(as the relic says 'Models with Battlesuits only, the supremecy suit is a battlesuit)

Unless they've changed from the Experimental Rules? No, FW's Riptides can't take them.

The Y'Vahra had the following in its rules:
The Y’vahra Shas’vre may take up to two items from the Support systems list (see Codex: Tau Empire) with the same restrictions of choice that apply to a Riptide battlesuit. This
does not include any of the options presented in the Farsight Enclaves supplement.

The R'Varna has nothing in its rules saying it can take Signature Systems either, and ECPA is a Signature System.

Same for the KX139.

What is the problem with taking O'vesa? he's built the way most people complain about riptides for, EWO, Stims, ECPA, IA and twin-linked fusion blasters. the only downside I see is that you take the drones, which are t6 4++ auto cannons..

I don't believe you can take O'Vesa on his own any more, he's only available as part of the 8 formation.

In the old FSE book, he wasn't listed seperately either, yet it was believed you could take him. there isn't anything i can remember about THe EIght that says you can only take members from the 8 as the 8, you just don't get the super benefits. but i dont have book on hand
