First things first, this is my first post here so sorry if I mess up in some way. Anyway, here goes:

Last week, a player who had recently started tyranids turned up with them. He brought a swarmlord and warrior broods, and got stomped by some competitive lists. I challenged him to some games next week, and I'm trying to make a list that will give a close and enjoyable fight, so I've busted out some chaos.

His list will probably look something like:

The swarmlord with 2 tyrant guard.
3 warrior brood (no upgrades)
5 warrior brood (no upgrades)
Carnifex (no upgrades).

So far, I was thinking of:
Typhus
22 plague zombies
5 plague marines (2 plasma guns)
5 possessed (no upgrades)
2 obliterators (no upgrades.

I'm currently worried that 2 obliterators and plague marines might be too much, considering the plague zombies could tie down the swarmlord or the fex (or both) for quite a while while I murder his troops and grab objectives, and am thinking of swapping them for a squad of chaos marines and a large raptor unit.

So what do you guys think? Will the obliterators be too powerful? Or will the wall of T6 be enough to make it a fair fight?

Personally I think obliterators are way over costed so I don't see taking them causing a game to be unfair. And you're taking possessed. I think it's fine. If you are still worried then drop the plague marines for MoN CSM.
