Did this guy up as a break from my Badab War project, and to enter into this month's Unofficial Painting Challenge here on Dakka.

This is the last model for the time being in my Shattered Legions army, so I wanted to put into practice everything I'd learned over doing the force and create a real centrepiece commander to go alongside my Iron Hands Praetor and Raven Guard Vigilator. He's something of a kitbash; the legs, right arm and torso are from World Eaters Rampager, the head and shoulder pads from the MkIV plastics, the bolter arm from the AobR Captain and the back banner from the SM Commander kit.

I dislike the muted green that's common among heresy era salamander armies, that said, it's still a good paint job.

Love the darker green so much nicer than the 90's style vibrant sallys that you get now. Top notch paint more
