I know it has two D weapons and the like, but I'm frankly trying to decide if it's any good for it's points. Could anyone here tell me weather or not it's any good competitively?

It's a big Flyer, probably the 2nd best heavy Flyer in the game, after the Thunderhawk.

It's.... Utterly worthless.

660 points for a single D shot that can't even start on the table and has real problems getting firing lines (being a huge flyer that can't hover) is really bad. Even at TL BS4 strafing run.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

Yeah it's not great. I would like to see its points come down or something. This was before Forgeworld knew how to write decent Tau rules.

Isn't it just another FW unit that was designed for 5th/Apocalypse rather than Scatterbike standards?

I mean, a D shot that can target flyers is not commonly seen, one that can without snap shots even less so.

Nope, it was originally designed for apocalypse, back when flyer wasn't a thing and D was utter destruction beyond any hope.
And even then, it sucked.

Yep, 2nd best heavy Flyer in the game. Apparently my attempt at irony didn't carry through, as all heavy Flyers are terribad due to huge point cost versus huge footprint and limited platability. My hope was that the "Thunderhawk" reference would have been recognized. Oh well!
