'Murica! (again)

You all seem much nicer that a couple other forums so I'll pose this question here.

No part of the model may travel further than its max movement.

It recently came to my attention of another interpretation I've never considered or have seen used. That is on a bigger model with a tail or something To matter here would be included in the measurement. Now, they also agree that is lame so just use the method I'm familiar with and essentially that is the bubble of maximum move from base. So, if I have a Magmadroth with a tail further off the base and my movement is 8 )arbitrary number, don't have warscroll on my currently) the essentially I draw an 8" bubble , 8" radius from the base and that's the move move the base can go, while remaining entirely in that bubble. This is instead of tracing the journey of the tip of its tail as movement used toward his cap of 8". Of course both parties say "that's what the rules say" which unfortunately can happen quite a lot in AoS, though we've all agreed to go the bubble route and use that I fun games and events.

So does your club, group, GW staffer tied up in your basement use either these interpretations or a new one not mentioned here?

Just use edge of base rather than the model. Makes things so much easier than messing about with massive tails or overly long weapons.

I think that the general consensus is that measuring from the models with no regards to a base was a huge mistake.
Measure movement from your base and you'll be fine.

Also throw my vote on the measure from base. No arguments or compromises about if this is in range or not because he has a spike going off at an angle.

If playing by model, my ironbreakers cannot hit my buddys bloodthirster unless they are literally on his base. And no one wants people to ruin bases they have taken time to make look pretty.

It's pretty much one or the other. You can't obey the RAW and then do the bubble approach.

If you're using base measurement, then lofe is far easier.
If you're using mini measurement, then by definition where the tail ends up is important.

Yeah. I guess the model idea is just full of Problems. I put up a poll on another forum on whether measure from base or model and I was surprised to even find three people playing RaW.

Just be consistent, model to model or base to base for everything in the game. So long as you are consistent, you will be ok.

The no part of the model can move more than 8" is so that you don't take advantage of your model during movement (i.e. some models have a long spear sticking off the model, this is to prevent you from rotating the model to get extra reach during your 8" move).
