Still tinkering with a list for a tournament. It started with me not wanting to buy very much, but as always it's migrated into me buying tonnes. Here's where I am at.

Eldar CAD.

HQ - Farseer, bike, spear
HQ - Farseer, bike, spear

Troops - 3x Scatter bikes

Farseer, bike, spirit stone - Warlord
Farseer, bike, spear
Warlocks x5, bikes.

The idea is to roll a seer on each of telepathy, runes of fate and divination. The 4th will depend on what powers are pulled and the game situation. If all has gone well then probably go for a second invis. Or maybe sanctic. I don't know which powers to roll on for the council seers for the 3+ casts. Help??

I contemplated dropping a squad of scatter bikes for a squad of stock bikes to put holofields on the prisms, but I think the S6 Dhaka is better for me.

Overall I have 5 fast objective secured units
60 S6 shots from lasers
2 prism cannons for AT, MEQ and TEQ
A knight for knightly things (hopefully invisible...)
4 S8 ap2 sky fire shots that can also smash ground armour
18 warp charge minimum 23 max.

I think it's very powerful. But it's mostly theory hammer at the moment so I'd like some input good or bad before I hand over any cash.

You need the Shard of Anaris, dude.

I thought this for a while too. Why do you think so??

Also: generally you will have to put two seers into either RoF or Telepathy. You will usually need both Fortune and Invis. Other powers are dependent on the foe. Put the Stone Fsreer from the council into RoF. Then the other into Telepathy. RoF has more WC2 powers that you want than any other tree. And the WC3 power you are most likely to want to cast. One of the things that is awesome about the council is how you can adjust the powers you go for based on the enemy you face. Demons? Then banishment is useful, so Sanctic is great. Tau? Invis twice is massive to get the WK and The Council safe as they cross the board to munch (and Shriek will demolish them also!).

Fearless. If your council has a bad turn and runs off the table you lose too much. Or if it winds up in an assault that goes awry. Culexus on his own can drop, nullify and kill enough to make the council check (and possibly run). You can get away without hit and run, but NOT Fearless.

It's where to find the 40 points from. I could drop a bike squad I suppose. That and 2 spears gives me enough points for the shard and another warlock.

If drop the Crimson Hunter personally. Then take another bike squad. Any smart player is going to focus your bikes, and the more you have alive at the end, the better a chance of winning.

Truth is. For anti air, guided and prescienced scatter lasers do pretty well.

If you're dead set on this, I'd still opt for baharroth. Drop the hunter exarch and two spears to get the points for him. Take a second CAD with him as the hq and move two bike units over to it for legal purposes.

You'll nab hit & run, perfect deepstrike (for gate), and fearless on top of it.

I'm not sold on the prisms, but it's your call there.

I get the bonuses Baha gives them. But surely the inability to turbo boost and the assault phase jump loss makes it quite restrictive. I also hate the way it looks. I may play test it. I can get fearless from the shard. I'm not sold hit a run is required. The perfect gate is nice, but is it needed with Jetbikes being as fast as they are?

I'm tempted to drop 2 spears and the ghost walks and upgrade 1 bike squad to scatter bikes. I really don't want to lose the hunter so this is the only real way to get the shard. But I can use the 2 non scatter bikes for aggressive objective grabbing.

Split the stone and shard up. But keep em on the formation guys.

Out of interest, why would you split them up? Is it because the stone removes the invulnerable? Which one do you make the warlord? The shard I'm assuming?

Exactly. And maybe you meet some barrage sniping stuff. A unit of dark reapers with a tempest launcher. Or worse still, some shmuck with a Whitlwin Scorpius with Battle of Keyleck. Or some such. Just my opinion.

If baharoth joins you can still 2 d6 jump. Baharoth gives you hit and run and fearless. He also gives you a potential 2+ re roll able tanking character. Without him the council can just get held up in combat for the game as they arnt very killy in combat.

I get what you're saying. And rules wise I can see the reasons for adding him in. He offers the council a huge amount of benefit for very little restriction. I just can't do it. I can't add him in. I also don't think I'd play it very well to be perfectly honest. For example, one of people biggest reasons for taking him is no scatter gate of infinity....but I don't understand why gate is important.

I used the seer council at the ETC and without him the council can get bogged down by things like wraiths with 4+ re an. The no scatter gate is amazing for chasing fast units and taking them out with shriek. De Archon with armour of misery for -2 ld to units within 6 is nice aswell in combo with multiple shrieks.

Yeah. Heard you didn't have a great time with it there Alex. Was it just tarpitting wraiths or what were they other issues you had with it? Gaz J seemed to have a better time. Is that a match up thing or what?

Don't you think having a Wraithknight makes a big difference? As you weren't allowed them at ETC, but I think they help keep the council out of a lot of trouble. (Theory hammer)

I didn't have enough practice with it. I also had bad luck in my first game as I needed invis and after 13 rolls I didn't get it. Also had some average matchups to help the team as we didn't have enough lists to deal with certain builds and as seer council was flexible I couldn't play the lists I wanted. I still did ok with the list but would have made changes had I had enough practice.

Wraithknight helps a lot but yes they wernt allowed that year.

13 rolls at invis with no luck is horrible! But I guess that's always going to happen sometimes. The thing is, in games where you don't get the powers, the mobility of the all jetbike council over the one dragging an Archon, Eldrad and Baharoth can really help you survive till the end of the game. I my humble theory hammer.

Excuse my ignorance, it's not intended, but if you don't mind me asking how did your council get tarpitted? I just assumed they were far too fast and mobile.
