Much like the title reads, do jet bike models get a cover save when they are behind other units? My example being I have three deffkoptas behind a mob of boys, are the koptas considered flying low enough to the ground to get a cover save because they're ruled as jet bikes ?

Are they obscured by the boyz in front? is the shooting unit shooting through the boyz?

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Get down to the firer's point of view - are the kopters obscured? True Line of Sight assumes all models (including skimmers, jetbikes, flying monstrous creatures and flyers) as being exactly where they are for the purposes of determining if models can see / if models are obscured.

thanks for the replies, it makes sense it's just true line of sight. My main issue was I see some people play them with bases (which put them physically above a unit thus getting rid of the save) and some without bases so they sit on the table. I guess it's fair to assume they must all be in the air floating like the bases they're supposed to be on?

If they're not actually mounted on the bases they're supplied with (as we're told the rules assume) then some house ruling needs to be done - a non-vehicle model is considered to occup the area of its base, and all measuring of distances between non-vehicle models (including for ranges for shooting, charging, etc.) is done to and from the base.
It's probably good to assume they're hovering if unbased, but even better is to simply have them based.

Thanks, that really cleared it up for me. I'll have to find some bases or just pretend they all have one.
