Would a character equiped with the Hunter's eye relic give ignores cover to his unit firing out the fire points of a rhino?

I just couldn't find where this was stated as working or not working.

Does it state that it gives this ability to the unit the Character is in?

It should state specifically in its own rules.

hunters eye gives it to the unit, (as far as the last guy i played against did it with grav devs...)

To my knowledge, wargear still functions while in a transport. For example, while in an open-topped vehicle and shot at by a flamer, he may still use his power armour wargear to make an armour save.

Thanks, makes total sense I was thinking of having a chaplain embarked in my gsf to do it.
