My friend and I tryed to create this variation of 40k that we found fun. List questions and comments below!

40k C.T.F Adaption

Two player

Recommend 50 point teams.

Nominate a random model on 32 mm base or a proxy that is close in scale to be the flag for each team. (Make sure to be able to tell the difference for each team.)

Play on 3' by 4' board. Models start on opposite sides of the 4' length.

Top 6" by 4' of board is respawn zone for team 1. Bottom 6" by 4' is respawn zone for team 2. When a model on a team dies, put it anywhere in it's appropriate respawn zone, depending if you are player 1 or 2. (Example: player 1's space marine dies; it goes to respawn zone for team 1. )

The 6" by 4' below the respawn zone for team 1 is the flag zone for team 1. The 6" by 4' above the respawn zone for team 2 is team 2's flag zone. Each player puts their flag model or proxy anywhere on their flag zone.

Center 2' by 3' of board should have so much scenery that one model could not see from it's flag or respawn zone to the other flag or respawn zone on the other team.

No models may wear power armor, artificer armor, or terminator armor. Any upgrade that could give a model a save that is better then 4+ is not allowed.

A model costs the amount of points it would cost to add a single model of that type to an already existing unit. If you wish to use a model in a unit that can't add additional models, divide the base cost of the unit by the number of models in the unit. Round up to the nearest ones place to find the cost per model. (Example: It costs X points to add a fire warrior to a fire warrior squad, the fire warrior costs X points. Or a unit of 5 fire warriors costs 10X, divide by the number of fire warriors (5), 10/5 = 2. Each fire warrior costs 2X.)

PSYKERS AREN'T ALLOWED. IF IT HAS A MASTERY LEVEL, YOU CANNOT TAKE IT.

In order to "capture" the enemy's flag, one of your models most come into base contact with it. Then you can do whatever you want to represent that the model has the flag. When a model has a opponent's flag, he/she gets to move an extra 3" in the movement phase.

If the model with the enemy's flag dies, he/she is immediately placed into wherever his controlling player chooses him/her to be inside the respawn zone and the flag is placed where he died.

A model may pick up their own teams flag and attempt to move it back to their base in their upcoming movement and shooting phases. If they die, they get placed back at their respawn zone and the flag is placed at the spot where they died.

There are no pinning or morale tests. We haven't played with these but if you want to give it a try, go for it.

We also haven't done the assault phase while playing this way, but again, go for it if you want to try it.

To win, you must get one of your models with you opponents flag into your flag zone with your own flag in it.

Otherwise, this is a game of 40k heavily changed by these rules.

(My friend and I created this on our own but realize that someone else may have created the same kind of game variation on 40k.)

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Oh and as far as factions go, create your own teams ignoring faction rules.
