Hey guys quick question I ordered a arachon ever chosen, bunch of paints and the vanguard.

I got wraith knight
Wraith guard
Dark reapers
Fire dragon
Falcon
And 2 boxes of the soldiers bread and butters.

So the question is should I buy the codex and use the stuff? Or will it cost a small cash load to make them playable at 2k points?

I need to go to work every day.

Get yourself the codex, an HQ choice and your good to go with a decent list there. You wont really be winning any tournaments but you have to work really hard to make a bad Eldar list anyway.

Edit: Actually, having just looked at it again, Eldar units are pretty cheap so you'd need another unit as well, probably more Aspect Warriors, to get a list that will reach 1500pts. for 2000pts your going to need to add a few more units on top of that.

Build up from what you have, you have a very good start.

get yourself a farseer on a bike or 2 - 4-5 squads of windriders and a wave serpant and you are good to go mate. Maybe 1 more squad of aspects too. Once you get the codex youll see why it's smart to run aspects in 3's.

I'd go for it since you already have a decent set of models and units to start with.

From memory, add a Wraithlord and Spiritseer to the wraith knight and Wraith guard, and you have the wraith formation.
Depending on how many you have of the Dark reapers and Fire dragons, 3 squads is the aspect formation.
Fire dragons like rides so the Falcon works there, but you will need either 2 more, or a CAD.
If by "soldiers bread and butters" you mean Guardians, 3 squads are the core of the detachment. Add a farseer, a HWP or War Walkers (I forget which), and a vyper.
It's all in the codex, but that's what I would do.

I'll differ from everyone else's advise and say: Get the codex and play a few games (unbound or not) and see if you enjoy the playstyle/aesthetic/ narrative of Eldar before you continue to invest. In any case I hope you enjoy them, I got 10k points worth of the space elves in about a year or two and have loved every moment of it and I hope you do too.
