Local hobby shop and game stores are collaborating to put on NRVCon, a small gaming convention at the University Mall in Blacksburg, Virginia, on April 23-24. The convention site can be found here: http://www.nrvcon.com/

The convention will include space for a 32 player 3 round RTT on Saturday, with the top 4 proceeding to a 2 Round playoff for the Championship on Sunday. The event will use NOVA missions and FAQ, reporting results to ITC.

Registration is open and is $25: http://efengie.com/?fng=Events&event=reg#NRVcon40K

Painting is not required, though it will be to be eligible for the majority of the prize support.

The tournament is in just a week and spots are still available. Day 2 will depend on numbers but day 1 will be 3 rounds on Saturday, April 23. Look for any updates on the event page

As mentioned before, the event will use NOVA Missions and rules. Also, paint judging will generally follow NOVA's paint scoring:
  • 0: Unpainted models in the army
  • 30: Basic painting, few if any highlights, shading, or other advanced techniques
  • 50: Army is consistent and uses some solid techniques, shading and highlighting
  • 70: "Work of Art;" displays advanced techniques and is uniform and consistent across the army.

  • Paint score will contribute 50% toward overall standings

PRIZE SUPPORT: The following awards will be available:
  • Renaissance Champion: Highest combination of Battle Points and Paint Score
  • Battlemaster: Highest Battle Point total
  • Best Painted: Highest Paint Score
  • Smoking Boots: Lowest Battle Point total
  • Average Joe: Median player in Overall score
  • Second to One: Runner up for Battlemaster

  • Note: no player will be eligible for more than a single award. In the event a player earns more than one award, they will receive the greater of the two as determined by the TO, and the runner up will receive the other award(s).
