Hello,

Please critique this 1850 list:

** Edited based on comments **

Troops
- Cultists x10
- Chaos Space Marines x5 with Rhino (Combi-Melta, Powerfist on champion and one Melta gun in squad)

Fast Attack
- Heldrake with Baleflamer

Allied Detatchment: Chaos Daemons

HQ:
- Herald of Tzeentch (Psyker lvl 3, Grimoire of True Names)

Troops
- Pink Horrors of Tzeentch x11

Fortification

Void Shield Generator with 3 projected shields

____

Game Tactics:
1. Knight goes in front of the charge and focuses on big things
2. Be'lakor joins the Herald + Pink horrors Bel'akor follows the knight for invisibility
3. Bel'akor follows the knight for invisibility and shrouds his Tzeentch entourage Herald and Tzeentch entourage stays in cover, close to Knight or Bel'akor
4. Herald Grimoires the Knight or Be'lakor as needed
5. Herald rolls all on Divination Tzeentch and hopes for the new Strength D psychic power
6. The Rapiers stay back in their void bubbles and shoot anything long range
7. The Heldrake and Fire Raptor focuses on other flyers, light armor and troops

Deployment tactic:
- Deploy everyone inside the "void shield bubble" and take as much space as possible to deny/reduce turn 1 droppod / Alphastrike assault

Thanks,

Be'lakor isn't an Independent Character so can't join units at all.

The chance of rolling the new Str D psychic power is only 33% (since you can only roll half you powers on a daemon table) so its a waste of time trying to roll it. You should be taking summoning powers instead

Take Hades Autocannons over the Laser Destroyers on your Rapiers. They are vastly superior at shooting vehicles

I am not sold on the power fist on the CSM champion. I would drop it for a melta-bomb (optional, but it does give you 'some' insurance), and then add two more horrors (again, insurance) with the leftover points.

Also, I assume that you don't mean #2 literally. Otherwise, looks like fun. I don't know much about the rapiers; but ,if they are as good in this build as in R&H, they should pave the way for your Knight.

HA! Good point! Never noticed that part. Thanks!

My understanding is that applies only to CSM rolling on a Tzeentch table. A Herald of Tzeenth from the Daemon Codex should have access to all?

Good point, my original thinking was I need to be able to shoot / instill fear into Imperial Knights and other hardened targets thats why I took the laser destroyer. I can probably pop transports and other light armor with the knight+fire raptor+heldrake

The requirement to roll on their gods table is CSM only. The daemon codex also has rules that keep you from rolling more then 1/2 your powers on the daemon tables. Besides if you could roll 3 times instead of 2 its still only 50% which is not good odds either

Hmm... Then I'll see if I can squeeze The Endless Grimoire, that would give me access to all the powers. No rolls...

Ask your opponent's if they still want to include the restriction for daemon psykers.

It's sort of unclear whether the restriction was meant to still exist or not. I'm of the opinion the new powers replace the old ones and don't carry the restriction. Also, to support the restriction not existing anymore, the tzeentch artifact "the endless grimoire" is almost 100% useless if the restriction is actually meant to be there.

HIWPI, don't restrict your daemon psykers.

Only works on the Warlord (which your herald is not)

Ah! Read it too fast. Thanks for setting me straight.

I guess I will use the Herald for Divination instead... or try to fit in Fateweaver if I really want Prismatic Gaze...

This got me thinking...

What about swaping Bel'akor and the Herald for Fateweaver as HQ in the deamon ally list?

I was using Bel'akor mainly for its ability to cast invisibility and the herald for the grimoire. I could probably get a good support combo with Fatewaver.

This would allow me to bring a ranged Strenght D weapon to the party and some support abilities.

Any thoughts?

you can cast grimorie on knight probably better than invisibility in my opinion, if you can take out something in your heavy support maybe you can try squeeze a chaos sorcerer +CW more powers, just my opinion, with only 9 CW you cant expect to do lot of things during psy phase,

If you are looking at ITC rules, check out the Legacies of Ruin that you can add to your knight. There are some pretty keen ones there
