So reading up on WB- it says Zardu's blade slaves take the place of the legion command squad....

So would that mean an apothecary could be attached to Zardu and Blade slaves?

Probably not as they aren't labeled Legion command squad but an interesting possibility if its allowed due to them taking the place of the legion command squad.

Any FAQ from FW on it?

By the RAW no, the Apothecary entry lists the units it can join but also states "Additional Legion specific squads may also include an Apothecary - units which can do so will be noted in their unit entry.", the Blade Slaves are a legion specific squad, and their entry doesn't say they can take an Apothecary, so they can't.

Ya as RAW says instead of...bummer could have made for a tough command unit with FNP.

Guess only real other option is to get another IC and roll on BIO/Telepathy and hope for invis or one of the good biomancy buff powers to make them truly frightening as pyro/malefic isnt all that great unless you go real demon ally heavy.

Guess there us the medicae tho...as a third HQ but then your HQ tax is pretty heavy all in all.

Yes, was hoping a regular apothecary would work.

As is the Primus works to give them FNP but that's a lot of points in 1 unit...and it forces your to bring 3 HQ choices due to the chaplain consul requirement from WB.

I guess you could make one all Character with blade slave squad be mean in CC but a lot of eggs in 1 big basket and you better hope to get some good psyker power rolls.

No. He fills the Diabolist requirement for the RoW, but not the chaplain/centurion requirement for the Legiones Astartes.

Yea, Zardu is most at home with Daemons (Cursed Earth) such as the Gal Vorbak, or in a fat squad with an Apoth sitting back and summoning.

Wish his Blade-slaves just joined whatever unit he joined, but maybe were limited to only squads with Dark Channeling or Daemon.

Even by themselves w/Zardu its a good unit...each slave has 3 wounds and T5......That's nothing to sniff at as long as you avoid being hit by STR 10 wpns.

Is a lot of ablative wounds for Zardu- esp if you also stack in a secondary character in artificer armor to tank shots that aren't AP 2.

Again tho its a lot of points in one small numbers squad that 1x STR template could just wipe off the board.

Drop pod seems to be the best deployment method for most of these semi-demon units since they actually have ranged wpns and it would allow them to scatter out some after the pod lands. Combine this with several squads of ashen circle should make for a fairly robust/numerous deep strike/pod army for 30k.

Esp with all that plasma/melta/phosex bomb attack ability from DS/Pods....not to mention all the flamers from ashen....
