I have developed an android app (free) that can allow you to calculate the probability of successfully routing an enemy unit

Here is a link to the app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nagastudioprojects.victor.diceomnibus&hl=en)

The app is designed to be able to work with any game or dice rolling formula.

for KoW you will want to set the success dice to the following settings:

Die Type - 6

Target - 4

Twinner - 7

Twinner - 0

Negator - 0

Reroll - 0

Reroll Limit - 1

And then uncheck the Reroll - Or Higher checkbox

For an example lets say that you have an troop of Kingdom of Men Berserkers and you are within charge distance of a troop of Forces of Nature Hunters of the Wild that have 3 damage on them.
You would put the following formula into the roller:

10st3st3+3+2d6

You do this by pressing the following buttons: 1, 0, (S)uccess, (T)arget, 3, Complex, (S)uccess, (T)arget, 3, +, 3, +, 2, (D)ice, 6

That formula will roll 10 dice with a target number of 3 or higher (Berserkers to hit value), and then roll that many dice with a target of 3 or higher (HoTW def is 4, Bersekers have crushing strength so to wound it would be 3 or higher), then add that result to 3 and then add the result of 2d6.
Once that is input you press the ? button to calculate the probability. The Nerve of the HoTW is 10/12, to input the value 12 and then press the 'Or Higher' button. It will then approximate the change that you will make that mark (~85%)

Using the complex function you can input values for units with variable attacks.

Please let me know what you think of the app. And if you need me to help out with a specific calculation input please let me know, because the app is designed to be an omnibus for all integer dice systems the system requires a bit of familiarization.

While cool, Im not really sure its necessary for KoW... Its easier to just approximately know the normal distribution of 2D6. Could probably be useful for some other systems though, or for testing stuff. Still cool.

I agree that if you are quick with math that you can do most of the odds calculations in your head.

By using the re-roll suffix you can also adjust for elite/vicious units (which the math is a bit trickier) if that unit had elite you would input this:

10st3r1st3+3+2d6

You do this by pressing the following buttons: 1, 0, (S)uccess, (T)arget, 3, (R)eroll, 1, (T)arget, Complex, (S)uccess, (T)arget, 3, +, 3, +, 2, (D)ice, 6

If the Unit had variable attacks (2d6) you would do this:

2d6st3st3+3+2d6

You do this by pressing the following buttons: 2, (D)ice, 6, Complex, (S)uccess, (T)arget, 3, Complex, (S)uccess, (T)arget, 3, +, 3, +, 2, (D)ice, 6

the app is designed to work with any game, so while its not a necessity by any means in KoW it works great for it.

True, for stuff like rerolling specific results, this is going to be pretty useful. Especially if youre designing a custom unit (for a campaign for instance).

Maybe some presets could make it more useful for general play? Not sure how you could easily implement those though... hm.

I had thought about making pre-sets for specific mechanics but those fall under the intellectual property rights of the games they would be from, with the customizing ability within the app one can set it to whatever mechanics they choose.

Hm, not necessarily. Stuff like "roll 2D6" isnt really copyrightable. Mind you, I cant really check your app, since I still use my trusty old Nokia.
(from before MS ruined them. <.< )

Ahem. Anyone else try out the app?

I was thinking that you were inquiry along the lines of pre-set formulae for specific units. The Dicebag feature allows you to set those up for use, so any game mechanic from any game in which the results are integer based can be set for your own personal use. If there are any integer based mechanics that anyone knows about that aren't covered please let me know and I will see if I can implement it.
