At my desk

This list is far from the most competitive, but I really like all of the Wolves' wolf-based models, so here's a fairly basic list trying to keep to that while being decent in a casual, yet somewhat strong environment.

Formation Detachment:

Deathpack:
Wolf Lord - Thunder Wolf, Thunder Hammer, Storm Shield
Grey Hunters - Wolf Guard Pack Leader, Flamer
Thunder Wolves - 3x Thunder Hammer, 3x Storm Shield

Murderpack:
Wulfen - Pack Leader with Frost Claws, 2x Great Frost Axe, 2x Stormfrag Autolauncher, 2x Thunder Hammer & Storm Shield
Wulfen - Pack Leader with Frost Claws, 2x Great Frost Axe, 2x Stormfrag Autolauncher, 2x Thunder Hammer & Storm Shield

1000 points

This list is very lacking in Objective Secured, but I think it's decently deadly in close combat against most tougher things. I am concerned about its lack of anti-infantry, so would it be wiser to take more claws on one unit of Wulfen for more attacks? I'm also not sure whether the Stormfrag Autolaucnhers will be in any way helpful, but I had the points so I thought why not.

Any thoughts or criticisms are always appreciated. Thanks guys.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

It's fine in terms of fluffyness but it has a glaring weakness in its lack of Long range AT. Right now the only can openers you have are the wulfen and the worlflord with their hammers. While S10 AP2 is a great metal box rapist, you need to make it to CC (2 turns at least, 2 rounds of shooting that will whittle your forces).

My recommendation is that you bring a CAD. Drop a Wulfen squad and the ranged weapons (really, BS2 and short range on this units makes them a waste of points) and get you another unit of grey hunters and long fangs for long ranged support.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I'd also sugest you drop the all TH/SS on the cavalry. you're spending a quarter of your army on 3 models. My recommendation is: keep the TH/SS on the leader, drop the TH on a guy (a chainsword will still have rending) and give the other a pair of wolf claws. Thus you can save 45pts (60 if you drop the SS on the other guy) that can give you more toys/bodies. I'd recommend using 20 to give your Lord a 2+ save. And spend the other 40 on a rhino for getting faster to places.

Not necessarily. His TWC have a very good chance of making a T1 charge between the run+charge from the Deathpack and movement buffs from the Wulfen formation (50% chance to either +3" to move/charge/run or double movement while both squads are alive).

Keep shields on every thunderwolf, especially with this low model count, though I agree on dropping a few of the thunderhammers for chainswords. I would try to fill out your GH squad a bit more if you can, and maybe swap the flamer for a melta or plasma gun.

I'm kitting my Wulfen out the same way as you and they've been awesome, though at 1000 taking a whole Murderpack is a bit too expensive for my taste.

The stormfrag launcher is taken so the wulfen have assault grenades not for its damage output.
