Please let me know what you think of this army, it will be used for games at my LGS. Mostly against orks, eldar, space marines and guard.. I'm am thinking of what units to buy to bring my list up to 2000pts. So far I've come up with this list where all I need to purchase is the assault terminators. Thank you!

Ultramarines Cad:

125 Librarian: lvl 2, terminator armor, storm shield, force stave

190 Ironclad Dreadnought: 2x heavy flamer, hammer, drop pod
225 Terminator Assault Squad: 4x storm shield + hammer, sergeant has 2x lightning claws.

255 Tactical Squad x10: Grav-Cannon, plasma gun, combi-plasma, teleport homer, melta bombs, drop pod w/locator beacon
255 Tactical Squad x10: Grav-Cannon, grav gun, combi-grav, teleport homer, melta bombs, drop pod w/locator beacon

75 Land Speeder: Multi-Melta + Assault Cannon
115 Stormtalon Gunship: Skyhammer Missile Launchers
125 Stormtalon Gunship: TL Lascannon

240 Centurion Devastator Squad X3: 3x Missile launchers, 3x TL Lascannons
206 Devastator Squad X9: 4x Lascannon
186 Devastator Squad X9: 4x Missile Launcher

1997 total

Tactics:
Hold a corner of the board with my devastator units, who will be my only units starting on the table
I would ds the tactical pods first. They provide a bubble of no scatter ds for the ironclad, land speeder and assault terminators. With the deep strike force I can clear out a portion of the board with shooting and then can choose to go offensive and work my way through my opponent's army or set up a defensive position that would be incredibly hard to move. I will roll on the strategic table hoping for conqueror of cities but any of them are really good except maybe the pinning one.

Doctrines:
Tactical: Turn 1 if tacticals are in rapid fire range, turn 2 otherwise
Devastator: Turn 1 if tacticals are not in rapid fire range, turn 2 otherwise
Assault: Turn 3 hopefully which means the termies and ironclad arrived on turn 2. Otherwise whenever it looks like I might charge something.

What do you think?

If you are using a CAD with dev cents, you might want to consider putting them in a pod and switching to grav. You would need to drop a FA pick to fit one in though.

The list feels more like a Imperial Fists list. Not that Ultras can’t make it work.

I’m not a fan of DS’ing assault troops. You probably have more beacon support then you need. I might just restrict it to the first pod coming down.

You put a few more upgrades on things then I would. Not sure if scrapping them all would save you enough to buy something else though. A few other personal preference things as well. I like TML/HB speeders. If you want something close in, you might go double melta, rather then MM/AsC.

Overall looks like a decent list.
