So let me start with a little introduction! After a 4 year hiatus I got the urge to start playing Warhammer 40K again, now that I am older and have a more stable income where I can actually spare some money to buy miniatures. Unlike my high school days, a box of space marines won't completely devastate my income for a month to come.

There were four factors that decided what army I was going to play, and how I was going to make it.
1 - I love Chaos Space Marines
2 - The Dark Vengeance miniatures are absolutely gorgeous
3 - I love converting
4 - I don't like Space Marines all that much

So what was the best course of action in this case? To buy a DV box set and convert everything for the glory of chaos, of course!

This is what I had to start with:

I bought the DV boxed set, a pack of chaos space marines and a rhino, because I'm sure as hell going to need that eventually.

Here is my progress so far. I've converted this guy:

Basically I've changed his head and right arm with chaos space marine variants from the CSM boxed set. I cut a bolt pistol from the CSM arm and glued a chainsword in its place, seeing as only left hands came with chainswords.
I also cut the marine in half at the waist and tilted him backwards, before adding mushy rot onto his body with greenstuff.

The plan is to continue converting dark vengeance into a completely Nurgle-themed chaos space marine army, possibly Death Guard. I'll choose chapter once I decide how to paint them.
I'll post updates on my progress here every few days I think.

Thanks for looking in! Until next time.
