Hey Dakka,
As the name suggests, I've got an escalation league starting up in a couple weeks, starting at 500 and bumping up by 250 every round. We've also decided to have warlord traits that stick throughout the campaign as long as the warlord survives. If they're dropped to 0 wounds during a game, a die is rolled and on a 5+ they're dead dead, do not pass go, do mot come back next game.
I don't have much experience in games less than 1250 points so I'm looking for some help. I've come up with two potential lists and don't know which to choose.

Okay, without further ado, here we go:
List 1
Warboss
'Eavy armor
Power klaw
89

Boys (10 in unit)
Nob
Boss pole
Power klaw
Trukk
130, 3 units so 390
2 units of boys have shootas

499 total

Boss jumps in the unit with sluggas, all three trukks move up and hit stuff.
Warlord trait would be the command trait coordinated assault, allowing rerolls of 1's for all Orks within 12" in the assault phase (overwatch too, I think).

List 2:
Same Warboss
'Eavy Armor
Power Klaw
Same warlord trait.

Boys (10)
'Eavy Armor
Nob
Boss pole
Power Klaw
Trukk
170, 2 units so 340

Lootas (5) 70

Total: 499

Same tactics: trukk rush, unload, and kill. Lootas dakka the tar out of anything, mainly transports.
I could also drop the armor on the boyz, and grab another unit of 5 lootas, but im not sure at this point.

So, my great internal debate is whether more Boyz, or more survivability and longer range from the Lootas.
As always, advice is greatly appreciated and welcomed.

List 2 seems to be the most flexible, and tactically viable. Lootas are brilliant for Anti-Tank in 500 points. I personally don't like Power Klaws on all of my Nobz, but some people swear by it.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

Tbh, I'm not sure I would bother giving the Boyz 'eavy Armour. Then I'd use the extra points to get a bodyguard unit for the Warboss.

HQ
Warboss
'eavy Armour, PK, Da Lucky Stikk, Bosspole
119

TROOPS
10 Boyz
Boss Nob, Bosspole, PK, Trukk
125

10 Boyz
Boss Nob, Bosspole, Big Choppa
70

ELITES
3 Nobz
'eavy Armour, 3 Big Choppas, Trukk
116

HEAVY SUPPORT
5 Lootas
70

This allows for Trukk rush with one squad of Boyz and the Nobz whilst your second Boyz can take objectives (Home or Midfield) and protect your Lootas from attacks from DS or Drop Pods. If you end up wanting to get stuck in with the foot slogging Boyz it should be do able with a half decent Waaargh! turn.
