Subject: Greater daemons and daemon Prince model interchangeable?

As title, is it usually acceptable to use a gd model as a prince and vice versa?
As a side note I have noticed the plastic winged daemon Prince kit is down from gw, are they getting a new one?

The plastic prince was reboxed for AoS, I think GW just forgot to re-link it back to the 40k section. A quick search on their website shows it again.
The non-Thirster GDs are interchangable, as back then all MCs were roughly "two times a space marine in size". Nowadays though, you can no longer use a Prince for a Thirster, but I think you can use a thirster for a prince.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

It depends.
Are you looking to use the DP kit to model your own GUO? If so, probably it will be allowed.
Are you using it to proxy for a bloodthirster? Probably not.
Are you using it to create a lord of change? Probably not. The LoC model is larger and very different than a DP.
Do you want to use one to make a Keeper of Secrets? Probably. They are about the same size, and the KoS model has not been updated in ages.

Great Unclean One I think you'd be better off using the Glottkin. Find a way to get a sword in his cannon maw, and you're good to go. It's huge. As big as a Bloodthirster. Find a way for a few extra horns and erase the couple flat spots for the riders to stand on. That's what the thing was intended to be originally anyway.

You can use some oop Greater daemons as daemon princes but you can't really use that armoured big space marine like daemon prince as a greater daemon.
Sure you can but it would be confusing

Do what you want.
As long as it's not super confusing (bringing GD's and DP's in the same list) should be fine.

Deamon Princes can look however you want and I quite like mine to look similar in esthetics to their matching GD.
Since the old Bllodthirster was on a 60mm base and is still a legal model to play (and is actually SMALLER than the new plastic DP) There is absolutely no reason they would not be interchangeable. Just make sure if you are fielding a D-Thirter he has a really, REALLY big axe.
I own conversions of all 4 GD and fully intend to "demote" them to field the Infernal Tetrad.

All of the above were converted using bitz from the plastic DP (except the Keeper who is mostly greenstuff/scratch built). I have since put all models on 60mm rounds, since Fantasy is no longer a game. I am working on wings for the Keeper & GUO so they can be proper DPs.
