I've been working on my eventual Tyranids list, hoping to build off of my Deathwatch: Overkill Genestealer Cult. I'll be using some Leviathan Rising Data Slates (hoping that a new "Nids and/or Genestealer Cult codex drops before I finish my Blood Ravens).

I really don't expect this force to be competitive. It's mostly just for fun. This is meant to represent the vanguard strike of an impending invasion. I may use it in a narrative campaign at some point leading up to a full-fledged invasion. One major concern I have is a serious lack of Synapse for the gaunts/gants. Any thoughts/suggestions?

I think your list is very good if you get the first turn, with rhe cult formation tying up important enemy shooty units right from the beginning, your other units could probably just do whatever they want without worrying being shot off the table.

With the cult formation presented, the Manufacturom genestealers may looks like a waste of points, if you wish to present infiltrator threat overload, maybe just like one or two brood with a broodlord, cast horror to pin enemy units.

I think it would be better to reduce the hormagant brood size, then take a Malanthrope, it is no doubt the best supporting unit in Nids army.

Thank you for the input, Neo. I took the Manufactorum Genestealers formation for the ability to infiltrate within 6" of the enemy so long as its inside a building or ruin. Basically with this list, if I go first, I would be golden if not, I'm probably going to get blown off the board by turn 3. I honestly haven't even picked up a 'Nids codex yet in the hopes that some earlier rumors are true and they're getting an update sometime this year, so I'm not familiar with the Malanthrope, but I will look into it. I was thinking about adding some Venomthropes for the synapse and cover. Also a Carnifex would be nice to add some heavy support. I may explore the idea of using those as opposed to the Genestealers (and I could take a unit or two of Genestealers for fun).
