Mostly focusing on what lists would do really well against this/ What my lists weaknesses are.

Normally it would falter hard against drop pod marines, but with the 2+ gone to ground rangers, and the farseer hiding in the bunker, I should be able to survive the alpha strike hard enough to bring in the reinforcements.
Would the matchup still be weak?

Other thoughts?

Farseer

x3 bikes, x3 scatter (x4)
ranger (x2)

crimson hunter exarch
5 warp spiders

Lynx, holo fields, Lynx Pulsar, Bright Lance (x2)

Skatach wraith knight, deathshroud cannons, scatter laser

Fortification:

Can the Farseer cast anything other than Witchfire powers from the bunker? IIRC, he cannot which may hinder his ability.

Yes if he can see his target via the fire point.

Nope, counts as being embarked on a vehicle. Witchfires only

He is only in the bunker for first turn, to survive alpha strike.

It seems like an over investment on protection. I'd go with either the VSG or the bunker. There's just not enough elves on the ground (or sky, etc).

Then again, I regularly go under 50% at GTs and barely manage 50% Wins at RTTs, so heap some salt on *my* advice.

I found the most successful way to starve off alpha strike list is reserve manipulation. I positively detest suggesting it for liability reasons, as I've also seen it fail miserably due to a few poor reserve rolls.

I've been experimenting with a VSG but it's typically been of medium use only.

The Farseer seems to be a low priority for an alpha strike. Not sure it is worth the points. If you reserve too much, then you stand to get the bunker to be the target. You stand to lose the Farseer just by having the fortification being severely damaged. Just seems like too many points for minimal return.
