Hey all, I want to add a Typhon Heavy Siege Tank to my Chaos Space Marines but I'm not all that interested in the idea of paying $250 for it. To me, it looks like a Land Raider with a giant cannon on the front. Is it similar in size to a LR? Could anyone suggest a kit that I could build a cannon like that from?

Hi,
its an awesome thing to have on the battle field. My brother made one from an old raider raider I had, back from the first plastic kits: this one

and then he bought this:

+ a bit of plasti-card and some spare sprue.

It doesn't fit exactly, but does so more or less. I'll see if I can find a photo of it.

A Typhon is based on a Spartan chasis (the 30k Land Raider on steroids). Using a Land Raider as the basis for a conversion would be far too small unless you use extensive amounts of plasticard to upscale it.

Yeah, as this is Chaos, you may be able to mutate a LR enough for it to count-as a Typhon. Extending a LR hull and tracks would be very difficult. Maybe find some big wheels and turn the LR into a half-track?

Or forget the original 'giant LR' look and just build a count-as Typhon from whatever vehicle bits you have around - if it's an overgrown daemonic engine then it could take any physical form.

So long as it's roughly the size of a Typhon and has a dirty great gun, most opponents should accept it.
