Hello everyone! I've searched through this forum but did not find anything to the topic.
I've been playing Eldar since early 6th edition even before that very "kill-everything-with-serpents" codex alongside with dark eldar, but had a long break after the 7th edition codex, - it seemed too overpowered so I preferred to stay away from it and play DE or Harlequins instead. But recently in our local communities we started tournaments again (yes, it's rather small) and there turned out to be more difficult armies - well, maybe for my experience and way of play. Still at the last tournament I managed to win against necrons with royal court and get the 1st place. Still there is one army that looks too hard to beat. Skitiarii+AdMEch+Blood Angels. Tried once or twice and nothing but 20-0 at the 3rd-4th turn. We rarely play with them besides tournaments so it's hard to get any practice. And rather soon we'll have an event again. Although I've started relatively long ago, I wouldn't say that I am VERY experienced or - well - tactial genius - so I started to look for advices. Most of them are "ELDAR ARE NOBRAIN CHEESY GO TAKE THEM AND YOU PRETTY WIN EVERYTHING" or "SUFFER XENOS".
So I would be very grateful if someone could help me. The most important question is how to survive the drop-skitiarii/admech. Warp spiders - too unreliable (1-1 and they are dead and for me that happens every 2-3 games), fortifications? - I do not like the idea of using them. Still void shield would be nice but our army is not THAT numerous to avoid drop pod inside the shield zone. I have the idea of scalpel squadron from covenite supplement so there's nothing on the table at opponent's turn 1. Any other ideas? The only issue is with that drops that kill pretty much everything - so usual bikes and serpents do not stand the chance. And warp spiders need a lot of LOS-blockers.
Would be grateful for your help!
I usually play with 1-3 serpents, seer council on foot, guardians and a few aspects (so it's like Ulthwe force should be), I DO NOT like bikes although I have some. I have one wraithknight and prefer to use it RARELY and only if opponent agrees - but that's a tournament after all. And allies with mon-keigh are out of the question. I will never do that)
