I cannot find it. Where does it describe how to set up terrain? Isnt there some roll off order somewhere? Am I stuck in a previous edition?

I believe it simply tells you to set it up in a way both players find agreeable.

I remember something as well about a roll off to see who get to set up terrain first and then taking turns. I'll check my BRB for a page reference when I get home, though this is a situation that's more commonly house-ruled. The way my group normally does terrain is that one player offers to let the other set up terrain. After it is set up, the other players is allowed to rearrange up to half the pieces as he sees fit.

We are thinking of the olde days. 6th ed. We have too many editions living in our brains, bleeding together into one horrible addiction of words and plastic.

Adepticon has the rules for setting up terrain anywho so its moot. BUT! It DID exist at one point

Actually this is my first edition. Maybe I read about it online or something.

Here's what I was thinking of, from Preparing for Battle in the rulebook:

"Exactly how you set up Citadel scenery models is purely a matter of personal taste, and they can be placed upon the battlefield in any way the players find agreeable."

Well there you go. Another option we use in my FLGS is to have one player set terrain, then the other player chooses sides. This encourages the first player to set the terrain as evenly as possible.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

GW made the assumption that we would use the rules in Stronghold Assault for terrain, and then prompty failed to tell us so. This is why the terrain section of the 7th Ed BRB lacks the detail found in all previous editions of the BRB.

To answer your question, check out Stonghold Assault.
