Hey guys, this is my first post here. First of all, sorry for my bad english, its not my native language. Well the reason im writing this is to ask you all if its worth to start to play warhammer 40k right now, i'll explain; I've always been a warhammer fantasy player and i loved go to the tournaments since 6th edition. When I knew that warhammer fantasy was going to die, and GW released age of sigmar, I was really upset and sold my armies. Now im thinking about start warhammer 40k (i dont know which army yet), but im a little scared because of some things: first, i've read that 40k will have his own AoS sooner than we think. Two, the widely known unbalance of the game (and this is important because i love to go to the tournaments but not to be owned in one turn). And three, the future of GW as a wargaming company who sales not only miniatures but a good rulebooks too.

What do you recommend me? How do you think the future of 40k will be?

40k won't be going anywhere for a while yet, but if you are looking for a tournament game, you are best off looking elsewhere. 40k can be a fun game, but it's pricey, and to get the most out of it, you really need to approach it with the right attitude, and co-operate and organise ahead of time in terms of what you want to bring and what you want to field. The game is horrendously unbalanced, so just turning up 'blind' to a random pick up game will in all likelihood end up with a rubbish experience. In terms of tournaments, again. Rampant imbalance is the key, with a handful of builds thst dominate and skew the game, along with a cynical and deliberate shift that forces you to constantly buy more just to keep up.

To be honest, if you want a good tournament game, Look to games like warmachine/hordes, infinity or even malifaux.

Well, I wouldn't see it that negative. I guess that 40k will stay as it is and will not get the AOS treatment.
If you have a local group to play with, go for it. At a global scale, 40k is hard to play since tourneys have all sorts of restrictions for army lists and its hard atm to configure an all-comers list.
