Decided to throw probably not enough artillery into one list

Now with MOAR artillery

At 3000 points you might have issues killing enemy super heavies. The only thing you have that could hurt heavy armour is a couple shots at the beginning of the game with the converstion beamer preds, and the Typhon's cannon.

I don't think super-heavies are terribly tough to get through, but you do need a bit more weight of fire on them than this list has.

Tyrants (joined by the Siege Breaker) and ML Havocs would be good choices for this.

maybe ditch ~180 points worth of stuff and take some quad mortars (for more artillery) or rapier laser destroyers

Other then that, I like the list and am doing something similar with my Solar Auxilia/ Death Guard (at times)

Edit: also, since most of your tanks should be out of actual shooting range, maybe ditch the automita and swap the forge lord's arm for another conversion beamer

There is no such thing as too much artillery.
But this list is lacking in anti-tank firepower. A few Havocs should be able to fix that just fine.

Alright, what I'll do is drop a Tac squad and a Pred from each squad and throw in some stuff

Don't you need 3 troops choices to run Hammer of Olympia RoW? You have 2 that qualify. Support Troops don't qualify for compulsory choices. Also I read/watched something from the last warhammer world that the tyrant termies are moving to the H slot.

Ah, I forgot about the 3 Troops, and if that's true about Termies I've got to make some room!

Or if you wanted to add in some barrage based artillery you could keep the 2 tac squads as troops and try that new RoW where they get re-rolls to barrage scatters, reduced scatter distance and fearless if near a barrage blast. That one looks super nifty and fluffy to me.

I like the 4 HS slots, I am looking at building a list with that ROW though

Updated list, now with 9 tanks, 78 Infantry people

ok, screw it: go big. Drop 1-2 marine squads and open up a few hundred more points and bring:

Allied detachement (if you are allowed)

1 tank commander

3 lasrifle sections (60 dudes in 4+ armor for the same cost as 20 dudes in 3+ armor)

1 leman russ battle tank (your FA slot)

3 medusas/basilisks (your HS slot)

if you want numbers and bombs, this, or a buncha rapiers would be the way to go if you didn't want to ally in SA/IM. Stupid limit on only 1 artillery section for marines :(

I agree, it feels like there aren't enough barrage weapon options in the Legions book to make full use of this RoW.

Do Phosphex bombs change the Medusa's cannon to barrage? It's direct fire on the regular gun. Basilisks are near useless under 7th edition rules where you can't fire inside the minimum distance.

Rapier quad mortars seem like the best choice, and they are actually a solid unit as well.

I mean, I can make it 4000 Points and drop the Marines to units of 15

Medusa guns are ALWAYS barrage, unless you take phosphex. So go phoshex on mortars and leave the medusas alone

Really, is that a Legions Astartes book thing? Because in IA1 they are just regular ordinance, not barrage. I would be super happy if the Legion Medusas are barrage

It lets your tacticals rapid fire AND assault, but counts as a disorganized charge. It's pretty solid since more shooting before assault nets better results than more attacks on the charge. They cannot use Fury of the Legion in conjunction with this. Also it makes the min troop requirement 3 units and the army must include a Warsmith or Seige Breaker as the mandatory HQ (though not the WL).

Pretty fun, but I would assume hard to actually pull off, and situational even when you can.

It also lets you take 4 Heavy Support choices, which is awesome with Tyrant Siege Termies getting changed to a heavy support rather than an Elite. And yeah, as far as I know, legion medusae are barrage, though they lose it with the phosphex shells

And all tanks and walkers get extra armor for free.
