I am going to some ITC tournaments in april and I want to try a different approach to it. For this I will ask for your feedback. There are some obvious hickups, but try to stay positive.

CAD
HQ1: Warboss, PK [85]

Troops1: 10 boyz. Trukk [90]
Troops2: 10 boyz. Trukk [90]

Elite1: 3 MANZ, 1 kombi skorcha, bossnob w. killsaws, boss pole. Trukk [170]
Elite2: 3 MANZ, 1 kombi skorcha, bossnob w. killsaws, boss pole. Battlewagon, ram [255]
Elite3: 6 tankbustas. Trukk [108]

Heavy Support1: Morkanaut, kustom force field [280]

Lords of War: Stompa [770]

Total: 1848

Now, the reason for taking the stompa rather than Buzzgobs stompa is due to WYSIWYG. There is also a limit to 4 (or 5?) trukks. What can change is the HQ and the boyz.

The plan is to move the stompa up field and engage and stomp nasty stuff. The morkanaut provides a shield for stompa and trukks and get stuck in at some point. The trukks race upfield and takes pressure off stompa by either getting shot or getting into combat. Tankbusta is for the sole imperial knight and its ilk.

Not a fan of this list my friend.

I would HIGHLY recommend Buzzgob as the only superheavy.

All you have to do is glue (or blue tack) some painted dodad to it's eye (poof) gaze of mork. Then make a barrel for the belly gun. Finally, who's to say that giant cannon on the arm isnt a liftadroppa? Have they ever seen one in real life? Of course not. So poof... its a lifta droppa.

There are only a handful of efficient formations for the boyz. Here's my idea.

Choose at least 2 of the following:
BullyBoyz in Trukks
GreenTide + CAD
VSG
Buzzgobs Stompa
Zagstruk and Biker spam

Choose 2 of those and build your list from there.

My current ITC Orks:

BullyBoyz
3×5 Manz in 3×Trukks

CAD
-Mek w/ KFF Finkin Kap (in Stompa)
-Grots
-Grots
-2×Kopta TLRL
-2×Kopta TLRL
-2×Kopta TLRL
-5×Lootas (VSG Battlements)
-10×Lootas(in Stompa)
-BuzzGobzStompa + 100pt DeffKannon
VSG w 3xShields

Thanks a bunch. I could find something for the eye, and even leave out the bellygun. Some people might have a hard time swallowing the arms bit.

How do your MANz in trukk fare? I reckon the trukks get shot down mighty fast.

Yeah I'm no fan of this list either, I could see a lot of things that will cause you, on turn one, be gone off the board (Eldar, Tau, IG).

My take on Orks right now (something my group has play tested a lot and have narrowed down) Buzzgob Big Mek Stompa with bikes. My actual list is capable of surviving those first 2 turns against said armies (since they can shoot or cross the board to deliver D scythes to your face) and the bikes are really reliable since they are T5 and can deliver multiple PK's to get the job done. The BBMS is a must for Orks and I take the belly option Deff Kannon and leave the D arm. I play him pretty aggressively unless the army has something that could kill him off quickly. I don't even put anything in him but I will play it smart and use Big Mek on a bike with MFF to envelope that 4++ once his shields are down. Those shields only get him across the board and should be used as such. I hope this helps and if you have any questions you can PM me on my actual list.

Leaving the D arm is a plus or minus IMO. 2x7" Str10. AP1 Blasts are pretty nice for the orks. That said, I like to keep the D.

Regarding the Trukks paper thin armor. Deployment is absolutely crucial. If they have the possibility of hitting them in your own backfield, you have to hide them behind the Stompa and VSG to block LOS. The trukks move 12. Turbo 12 more on T1 while the stompa unleashes major UNEXPECTED long range firepower.

To add to the surprise, the 10 lootas inside the Stompa can shoot and will never ever ever snapfire except in cases of overwatch (sonething charges the stompa), or they are shooting a flier, or some other shenanigans.

Regarding competitiveness vs Eldar. Orks dont gave the tools to beat them. The BEST ork list against even an average Eldar list in competitive play has little chance.

Oh... Mounted Manz will dish out 20 Str 9 AP2 PKs and have an identical threat range to Warbikers and are more durable despite T4 but WS5 and Fearless. I do love the bikes though, just Manz fit my playstyle better. Enjoy the tourney.

@doktor_g
Lootas will snap fire after you move the Stompa, rules for Relentless from Stompa do not confer to the unit. But if you had a HQ choice with mega armor attached to lootas inside stompa, then that unit of lootas would get Slow and Purposeful and then can shoot with the stompa moving no problem.

Warbikers are great because of Zhadsnark. You can get a 2+ jink for a blob of bikes, and if you do it right, they will be in the enemy deployment quickly, and they chew through everything. There is more to the biker blob, but I feel with the current ITC Meta, ork vehicles with guys inside is no good and will get turned over quickly with most of the armies you will face. And if your area is competitive like mine then you will lose most games.

@nitromorph:

Its not relentless that confers it. It's because it's a walker. It walks. It doesnt move "combat speed" or "cruising speed". You can look that one up. But yes my statement is correct.

Here's another one you may scratch you head about later.... can the lootas shoot even if the Stompa is in combat. The answer is yes... they can.

You crazy kids and your notions....

But yes... I lose games. NorCal is pretty competitive.

Also, its funny that in your 27 posts weve talked about this identical topic before. Kinda cool... mind link or something...

Oooooweeeeeeooooooo (eerie music)

@doktor_g

Good call on that, I totally missed that, but yeah everything can fire outa the stompa even if locked in combat. I tried burnas once [shooting a primary target not locked in combat and secondary targets locked in combat with stompa] but fails because of the units locked in combat are illegal shooting targets.

Yeah its funny how I've evolved from not knowing gak and asking help on here, to wishing I could play most of the lists on dakka site just to table them by turn 3. Would be fun to get into different state tournaments (I'm in Colorado Springs) so pretty competitive along with Denver Mountain Trolls.

@nitro: You go to Feast? Im just a north state guy and LVO. BAO this year. Will go to Adepticon if my bud from Missouri goes. Ok. Sorry to our brother from Denmark (OP).

@ OP: What models do you have and perhaps we can help. Maybe Morkanaut counts as imperial Knight? Allied to what ever orks you have. Buzzgob cant be taken thpugh unless 100% ork list (Frontline FAQ Errata)...
