All recent rule books open with the emperror on his throne. Each edition he decays a bit more. Will he still be there the 8th edition and if so how would he look like

who knows, i think what they refer to is his golden throne ever so slowly decaying but i dot think much will happen in a couple of years, got to hand it to the builders of the golden throne though, 10000 years and counting...

The Golden Throne was not actually built in 30K. The Emperor dug it out of the sands of Terra. Its original purpose has been lost to history.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Knowing GW he will be in the same state of almost death for eternity despite the golden thrown being rumoured to be failing because GW refuses to advance the fluff.

Considering that for the last 10 years every edition has been set in the same year (M41 Y999) I don't expect there will be much change.

There's lots of ways to advance the storyline (Blood Angels fall to chaos, Ultramarines leave the Imperium just to pick 2 oldy but goodies) without blowing the whole thing up.

Course I said the same thing before Age of Sigmar so what do I know?

I think it's from Collected Visions. But from what I remember It mentions how it was found before the palace was built. I don't think it was the throne, but the section of the webway and the throne was built around it. Was a little while ago that I read it so I might be wrong.

It's touched on in A Thousand Sons when it describes the havoc Magnus wreaks when he carries his psychic message to the Emperor.

It's actually a piece of Necron technology that they built around the same time they introduced the Pariah gene to Earth's primate population. The "Throne" was originally meant to draw in warp entities and discorporate them. Sort of a warp bug zapper. Apparently the emperor turned the power down. At least this is my theory.

More likely the Ultramarines fall to Chaos than the Blood Angels. To quote Khyriss "We will never have them now...."

So they have us surrounded? Excellent, now we can shoot in any direction we want!!!
