That puts me 30 points over... could cut a plague drone.. (or cut two to have a unit of 7 for fluff reasons). gotta figure out tweaking the wargear but i love this idea. I have a Fateweaver conversion that is nurgly and awesome.
I plan on using Kroot Hounds as nurgle dogs and will convert a nurgle herald on a juggernought out of a krootox.

Imagine 8 units of dogs, 6 solo beasts plus a drone star. super fast, tons of attacks. hits hard.
fateweaver's d shot, reroll grimoire on the star, prescience on the star. buff them with nurgle powers from the herald. I'm confident that the dogs and solo beasts can grab objectives, hold them for a while and fight back when needed. they'll mainly be used to distract and control the board while the deathstar deals with the threats it needs to; preferably in the order i want.

I'm definitely going to be trying this out; basically the same idea I had with the tally but using the dogs for added punch and mobility vs sitting on their ass like nurglings.

I would drop 2 drones. 7 Drones is more than enough, especially with the formation bonus. Any extra poinst that gives you needs, and I mean NEEEEDS to by put on lesser rewards to get some AP2 on your characters (of which the Drones should have 1 unit champ). An Icon for the drones might not be bad either. +1 combat res can sometime be the difference between winning combat, or taking an instability test. Plus, if you are winning combat, your opponent has a additional "-1" to the test. Kinda like a bargain Bell

It would also be nice to have the locus of Hatred on the Khorne Herald. Most of the "rotten-flesh" hounds need to be paired up anyway for the formation bonus, so why not give them all Hatred and have a mega-blob of hounds that can explode across the board if you need them to.

Unless you already have all the Kroot hounds, I recommend using Vampire count Dire wolves as your hounds. They are the same size as FleshHounds (Kroot Hounds may be too small) AND they are already nice an decayed for you.

very good point on the hatred locus; i was forgetting the fact that it impacts all of the units from the formation. I'll typically have multiple units within range.

I did want a banner on the drones for the poison 2+. Icon isn't a bad idea either. 7 drones is probably a bit more usable in terms of size too. I just have to be careful with the khorne herald in a dog unit that he doesn't get popped and i lose the grimoire. not that it's essential but it's awfully nice.
