I just got DWOK about a week ago and have been working on assembly.
I take care of my minis but use them primarily as boardgame pieces (BaC, DWOK and Execution Force).

I've cut the ventilation duct off the patriarch's feet to make him more stable.
I just cut the pipe that the Blood Angel assault marine was landing on, also to make him more stable.

Traded for an Execution Force set that was already assembled.
The guy who built them did me a favor and didn't build the assassins on the scenery pieces.
Had he built them into the walls and what-not, I would have had to figure out a way to separate them, if possible.

What about you? Do you keep your minis pristine or do you adjust things like scenery?
Just curious.

It depends on the terrain I'm lobbing off, and how I'm basing the army that the units a part of. If the model is standing on a rock with a skull nearby, sure, leave it on since that works with my basing scheme easy. if he's on some elevated platform on a ship interrior, I probably need to change that for consistency.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.
