Now I know that there is already a list of painters you can commission but I was wondering if anyone knew any services that are particularly known for their conversions. I have a project in mind that would require a lot of green stuff skill, and I have none.
Thanks in advance.

You might be better off looking for sculptors.
Don't know the specifics of your project, but a "name" could run you thousands for an infantry sized figure, I'm sure that there're much more economic options too.
I'd fear that hiring a painter for heavy conversion might be similar to hiring a plumber to fit your gas central heating, I mean sure, they both work with pipes and stuff, but water isn't explosive!

It depends on how much conversion and what kind you need.
you should try and ask or look in i think the swap shop for the service thread. IIRC
What are you exactly trying to doo?

Jokes on you, Australian plumbers work on gas too.
I agree with you though, finding a sculptor would be the best bet - check the Swap Shop thread, though I imagine your inbox is flooded already!
