Okay so I technically do not have an official list yet as I do not have any of the new books, just something I thought about with the slightly more open list building. I have a feeling it wont be great but looking for list ideas falling within this theme.

I call it the 101st ork bourne.....or luftwaaghen whichever you prefer.

Essentially I want that ww2 paratrooper feel
So Dakka jets(or bombas), Storm boyz, kommandos, and artillery support

The problem is of course the necessity of basic troops. I know I need them but I dont really want them lol the most I can think of is make them all shootas who hang back and then move in to hold points after a point is clear kind of thing.
But yea basically any ideas for this.

Also imperial guard maybe as well if anyone has any ideas.

I love the idea. You can do somehing like this.

Big Mek W force field and bike - (I did a side cab motocycle for his field, You could easily do this with a WWi era sidecab motor cycle)

Take bikes as troops - Put them on dirt bikes just like indiana Jones.

Take TONS of dakka jets and bomba - buy WWi era hobby planes. Cheaper than gw ork ones.

Check out Kromlech. They actually make Nazi orks. and all thier bits.

Stormboys should get parachutes i feel. Swastika stika bombs seem necessary. Heil Hitlork should be yelled instead of WAAAGGG.

I approve of Lurfwaaagghen as the list name.

My Dkok krieg army that is painted all Nazi germany like. They ride in a storm lord with a malcador infernus and 3 basilisks.

Sounds like a fun theme. Dont expect to win competitive games though. But go after it. Start a painting blog!!!!

You can just take the Zagstruk, Snikrott and the air armada formations.
Cuts out the need for troops. But makes taking artillery tricky.

Mek Boss Mogrok's formation could work well to give you plenty of characters (Outflanking bombers? is that possible here?), with a small CAD. That would let you take artillery, and it could be worth getting an Aegis (or some other fortification) with a Com-relay.

Blood Axe theme would certainly be the way forward, and as above - check out Kromlech!

I played in a tourney last month with a similar idea. I took the gaz book which gives you teleporta strike. (Infantry can deepstrike in, granted it is random roll). I took 8 10-man units of shoota boyz, and some tank bustas and a few dakka jets. Most of my opponents laughed at how ridiculous it was, but it held up. Surprisingly, the ITC missions are a bit easier. Land on an objective and go to ground if someone shoots.

The only game I had a bit of issues was tau. Interceptor was a bit of a pain, but we still tied. Stoopid fish peeples.

I used to enjoy using that Detachment.
It's a shame they removed it when they updated the Ghaz book.

It seems then I have cheated. I have the 2014 version and didn't know there was an update. That is a bit upsetting, but I'm glad I know now. The last dozen tournies, I have been the only Ork player. Good to know people trust me.

I'd like to see this army done...
If winning is second to fun, this should be good...

Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the universe together.

I've got all the ingredients for this army, but lacked the time...

To field it, i indeed build the Zagstruk and Snikrott formations.
Furthermore i got loads of Deff Koptaz, combined with Eggplane models (look them up!).

My plan is not WW2 by the way, but it has WW2 style units and bits (from Cromlech) and is above all airforce oriented.

To field a couple of big planes and, in you case, artillery i would take generic Ork army and take 2 gretchin units as TROOP choices; cost nothing and are fun to convert toward WW2 too and perfect for holding (in hiding) objectives on own table edge.

two troop tax grot squads could make a semi speed bump for any fast assaulting squads that might look to bulldoze your artillery. A Mega Armored DLS Warboss standing with the artillery batteries might help ensure you last long enough to get reserves on the board.

With an open CAD you could fill in Elite/FA with Stormboyz/Kommando's as needed, then take an Airplane Formation, or vice versa and take the stormboyz formation.

I am the kinda ork that takes his own washing machine apart, puts new bearings in it, then puts it back together, and it still works.
