I notice companies like Winsor & Newton for instance sell both Drying Retarder & Slow Drying Medium, that retarder comes in gel form but slow drying medium is liquid and designed to be mixed in with water or other mediums in greater amounts. Having only used retarder I've been wondering if slow dry medium is worth trying, does anyone happen to have any experiences with it?

Also one more question please, do brush restorer fluids offer any advantage over the masters' brush soap? I've read somewhere they are good for dislodging paint in the ferrule which even brush soap won't affect but I'm yet to try some out.

i think the fluids just another way to help clean brushes. It wont shape a point but as a liquid it prob gets into the ferrule better.

I have tried the slow drying mediums once from liquitex and it dried with a high shine that hurt my ability to see where the blends had to be fixed. My lighting isn't perfect but its 2 lamps with daylight bulbs so it's not awful

Do you 2 brush blend/wet blend? I recently started to wonder if I should also invest in a dif brand of retarder to help speed up my tzeentch armys blue to purple blends

No luck with the W&N Brush Restorer for removing dried paint from the ferrule, but haven't used it as a general cleaner. Because lazy, I use Pink Soap, a liquid soap. Easier to use than the hockey puck, though if you're happy with Master's, I wouldn't switch.

eosgreen I don't wet blend but I live in a dry climate and find myself painting lots of tiny details with a 000 brush, so the paint always seems to be drying faster on the brush than I'd like due to the small amount present.

I use Vallajo Retarder but dislike its' gel consistency so I'm thinking of giving some Slow Dry Medium a try.

The liquitex ones are quite good, I have the stop-dri and flo-aid
