Hi,

I'm Pedro and love in the UK (South East), as the name states I like to paint warhammer 40k.

I first got into 40k in my teens mid 90s, where I played and painted. For a number of reason I drifted away from the hobby. I decided to take up the painting side 3 years ago as a hobby / creative release from my mundane job.

I have also read most of the BL Heresey and 40k novels, and really love the universe of 40k! I wouldn't mind getting back into playing the game, however I think the rules may have changed a bit from 1997 ☺. Also it is interesting how much GW has changed over the years, the quality of the models has come a long way...but the hobby centres don't feel the same, more of a hard sell!

I am currently working on a duel diorama for golden demon. It is a battle between the Raven Guard Shadow Captain Kyvar Kaed (thinks that's the spelling) and a Tau commander! The Tau Commander has one hand damaged from a lighting claw strike, and both are battling on a marble column. This is the first painting competition I have entered, not expecting to get far, but it's the experience and taking part that counts!... what an over used statement

Hello Pedro, welcome to the Dakka!

I look forward to seeing your Golden Daemon work. I'm also working on a diorama depicting a medieval knight fighting against a medieval wyvern, which I'm hoping to also post on this dakka. Any ideas on which base sizes you may be using? I have some advice on lightning effects you could depict on the Tau Commander you may find useful.

Hi, thanks.

I'm going to use 50mm circular base. This will form part of a marble column they will be fighting on. Would be interested in hearing about your lightning claw effect?

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
