I bought some Ghar assault suits (from Beyond the Gates of Antares - available from Warlord Games) and have been very impressed with them. There are the first little kits in ages that I have put together without feeling the need to convert them... so that makes me happy .

Anyway, I'll start with all the pics:

The first one assembled and primed:

Painted but waiting for basing:

A size comparison:

...and finally, the unit as it stands (one still WIP, the other two painted but not based):

I am not sure how big this project is going to get but I have already bought three more suits (with ranged waepons) and have made a few plans which can be read on my blog:

I'd definitely recommend these little kits as they are very well made and a joy to put together

Solid work.

Those suits are my favourite part of the GoA range.

Cheers.

I quite like some of the other miniatures for Antares... but not whole ranges (some of the individual miniatures are great... but others in the same squad may be not so good).

That said, the Ghar suits are brilliant... I am really enjoying assembling and painting them... and the fact I haven't felt the need to convert them is tribute to this (although I do plan to convert a few character suits at a later date ).

The Ghar troops... not so much so I will be looking towards Cephalopods to replace them... but more on that once I have assembled the first 12 suits

Cracking stuff here, love the militaristic look of the Ghar. GoA really has a marmite reaction from most people, personally I love the Algoryn and the Concord miniatures and have already painted a fair few.

Am looking forward to seeing what poses you can get from the suits, as well as yor replacement troops.

Not quite as far as I'd planned with the close combat suits (still need to finish one) but I have made up for that by assembling and priming the next three suits :

The primed ones will be joined by one of the other suits and that will be a team of four. Three teams of four will make a platoon (so I need two more boxes of bombers for a platoon ).
