Well for Christmas I got a Mantic Sci-fi crazy box!
The box contents:
1 connecter sprue
1 Ruins Sqrue A&B
2 Accessory Sprues
1 Metal Helfather Mercenary
2 Plague 3a with rifle and 1 3a with HMG,
1 Goblin Sniper and hooray its not the dancing one! .
1 Marauder Commando with 2 rifles
1 Praetorian Dreadball MVP
1 Dozer Dreadball MVP
5 Forgefather Stormrage Veterans
1 Forgefather Jotunn Heavy Hailstorm Cannon
1 Z'zor Keeper
So far the ruins sprues and almost 1 Accessory Sprue has been used and 1 3A has been turned into a casualty. I tried to get pictures but only 1 came out half decent.
Quick update today with some of the stuff from last night
First the building made from the aforementioned Ruins & Accessory sprue. The building was glued together instead of being left modular. I kinda like how busy a static building can look.
My wife really likes the purple, and so do I. I don't know what the secondary colour will be though. All in all this piece makes me rethink keeping the rest of my terrain as modular.
Next up is the primed Jotuhn Cannon.
This is going to be painted up to be as scatter terrain. Varied scatter terrain really goes a long way.
Finally the Helfather who needs another coat of primer.
He may be painted as close to the orginal paint scheme as possible, but I haven't decided
On a side note does anyone know where I can get his stats?
And a couple of the purple building I've been working on.
Aaand a picture of my painting desk, I need a new chair though.
Lastly is my second attempt at sculpting a full mini. A Jedi knight! Enjoy!
I want to homebrew a really small scale skirmish game centering around a single Jedi and a single Sith.
I think I managed to figure out the lighting, although 1 more light would be useful.

Subject: Re:NobodyXY`s Space Rats, Orx, an Asterian, Boadgame pieces and Deadzone Terrian
A couple of mostly done zeds, and a squad of Dorfs, also mostly finished.
the bases of zombies that look unfinished actually has a very thin coat of
mica flake goo. I got the contagion expansion, and played through a couple
of zombies scenarios and a few AI games and enjoyed it, the AI was surprising
but also has some limitations. Looking forward to DZ:I !
Some of the Zombies I'd been painting the first one's were test paints so some things got changed. Still lots left but I needed a break from them.
I started work on the Night Spawn from the comparison stuff.
I'm hoping to play some deadzone tonight or tomorrow so maybe I'll do a Turn overview then sum it up in narrative form. It would be text only because of lighting issues.
Did some green stuff work on some orx nothing major , And I am starting to think about what my enforcer's colour scheme and fluff will be.
Anyways thnx for scrolling
Quick pregame update. Just to show the board and some zombies populating it.
Seeing these up close all I can think is man I need a place to store my terrain.
So much dust
Here's the fluff, first time writing anything like this hope it's not too terrible! Spoilered
Spoiler:
an abandoned colony on the edge of known space is placed under
quarantine. A ramshackle fleet takes refuge to gather parts and
make repairs. A hidden nest of has been expanding. A corporate
drop ship hovers just long enough so a merc can drop
into the ruins below.
A canister tucked under his arm, the merc heads towards the edge of the colony to be evacuated.
Along the way he disturbs a meandering horde. Riled by the mercs motion
the hordes moans boil over into wild screams. Life. A beacon
surging the living dead to purpose. their only purpose.
Cornered and injured the merc becomes still,
with hopes that the frenzy of rotten flesh below him will find a new meal.
Orx scouts smell the lost souls long before they see
them. Down the sight of his rusted rifle a sniper spots something
odd. A Forgefather, and he's alone. A canister mag sealed to his armour
catches the snipers eye. A treasure! The Orx need little debate if
the Forgefathers want it then it was worth prying from their hands
dead or alive.
The chittering from the nest, a tangled mess of stripped technology, piles of rotting food and debris, like a wave.
Danger. Intruders! A scout sounds the alarm. A Forgefather trapped and alone.
His armour and their flesh will fuel vermin experiments. Orx have little technology.
A problem for another time.
This game of deadzone is played with a few changes. firstly the only objective is reaching the Forgefather before the other player. Secondly the zombies don't respawn. Finally no crate tokens
are used as the setting is a thoroughly ruined abandoned colony. Each player has 50 points and may take items. Vermin are being proxied as plague. To the game!

Orx setup
Vermin setup
I forgot to grab a board overview. Next time.
Turn 1
Vermin Initiative
The scourger climbs the ruin to survey the way forward
Meanwhile the whine of a drill meeting bone signals the advance of the nightmares.
Handed initiative over to orx.
Orx Initiative
The sniper scampers into up into a good sniping position.
The Mawbeast tries to sprint forward but instead is ambushed by zombies!
Vermin Initiative
The nightcrawlers move into forward finding good cover from clouded prying eyes.
The Nightmare continue pushing forward.
Orx Initiative
The commando follows the sniper up to find a target for his grenade, a group of zombies proves too tempting a target.
End turn 1
Turn 2
Orx Initiative
Commando jumps down and surveys the street.
Sniper takes the opportunity to cheap shot the vermin scourger. his breath drawn in he pulls the well rusted trigger. The vermin's side explodes in gore. The critter keeps upright. Damn!
The Sarge seeing the carnage the commando caused with his grenade attempts the same. He wrenches the pin free of it's rusted home. A slip of the hand see's the grenade bounce
off the wall and land beside him. The sargent drops to the ground. Thankfully it's a dud.
Vermin Initiative
A nightmare slick in black blood charge's forward hoping to draw the zombie's attention. it works. The horde descends on the vermin warrior. A valiant effort keeps death at bay.
Bleeding and battered The second Nightmare charges past 2 zeds towards victory!
Orx Initiative
The Mawbeast propelled forward by adrenaline comes up short.
Turn 3
Vermin Initiative
Skittering up the ruins the nightmare survey's the chaos from his vantage point. Gore, Soot and smoke. The cargo clan for the win!
Closing thoughts
Orx thoughts
Orx: I'm proud of my dog!
Vermin: yeah he did good this time ;P
Orx:
Vermin thoughts
Vermin: Zombies add so much more chaos to the base game!
So that's that. I've never down anything like this, but it was fun!
Hey all update time!
First my rendition of the Scourged, a renegade Space Marine Chapter.
Chapter Fluff
Spoiler:
Originally a Space Marine Chapter working for the Inquisition known as the Seekers of Truth, the Seekers and their Chapter Master, Gallus Herodicus, were being drained of their morale through excessive orders by the Inquisition to murder innocents. Herodicus would pray each night to gain the power to know when a man was lying so that he may only kill the guilty. However, Tzeentch was listening and granted his prayer. From that moment on, Herodicus and his men could hear every lie spoken by mankind. The Chapter went rogue within days from the insanity when they realized how many falsehoods existed in the Imperium they were serving.[2]
Since going rogue, the chapters battlecry has become "The lies, the lies, the lies..."[2]

Bacca Canus, Aspiring Champion of Tzeentch
Fluff
Spoiler:
Bacca Canus sees the "Great Truth" as a curse. Rash and singleminded but is tolerated because his combat prowess and brutal leadership inspires the ramshackle warband.. The symbol of his god hangs proudly for all to see.
Unamed Marine
Fluff
Spoiler:
A long abandoned purity seal hangs in tatters on this living embodiment of the Scourged fatalistic fighting style
Bacca and his Battle Brothers
So thats the Scourged! "The Great Truth" is the Chapters spiritual awakening after being cursed by Tzeentch. In my version of the fluff the Scourged can be lied too and deceived by the gods, particularly Tzeentch. To the average Marine, Tzeentch and his symbols appear as symbols of the resurrected Emporer. Driven by the Pressence and Blessing of their God they purge humanity of those that would stand in the way Tzeentch's plots. I've got a bunch more to do, including Tzeentch Chosen.
Now onto DZ/FF/WP
I'm in the very early stages of painting the Maruader allies to my GCPS. The general colour scheme will follow my enforcers. On the mantic front I'm mostly just finishing up bits and pieces in anticipation. I've got plans to do so allied force escalation style narrative campaign, with the Maruaders being at odds with each other.
Annnnddd if Overkill ever arrives some of that should make it into this thread.
Also! I have a proper 4x4 plywood board now! Hopefully as summer starts statying I will be able to work on it.
Bye!

@KernalTerror Thanks! The chosen are a little trickier. I'm trying to incorperate Tzeentch's maze into the armour. The khorne(I assume) chosen from DV are really nice, but don't fit Tzeentch well at all.
First a few group shots I took mostly for me but thought I'd share.
Forgefathers
Spoiler:
Thovar leads the Mors on an expedition to exham.
Marauders
Spoiler:
Grukks Marauder Band is made up of many tribes, as well as deserters from the mandrake rebellion.
Veermyn
Spoiler:
Cargo clan, the last of their kind. A dying breed of unique Veermyn. Hail the Cargo! Kill the beasts!
Plague
Spoiler:
Dr. Simmonds and her twisted cohorts stalk space looking for victims.. Hordes of zombies and little in the way of heavy support leaves them vulnerable.
Enforcers
Spoiler:
N-326 acts as vanguard for the sponsored Enforcer company Legion XV. Marscorp! If it inst red it isn't Mars!
Some work got done on these orx before I got my supply drop.
Genestealer Cult( )
Colours are going to be dark-dark blue carapace with possibly a dark red for the skin. We will see how it goes though. The sculpts are really good. A lot more mold lines than I though there would be. Some go directly down the middle of faces. Most are okay though.
Yesterday I got in a game of DZ2 as enforcers and was destroyed. My Forgefather opponent rolled really well, and I played terribly. I lost a Peacekeeper Round 1 Activation 1 to a Mining Laser. Mining lasers seem to be powerful no matter the universe! After that loss I just couldn't bring enough AP to the table to crack her Forge Guard. 20 minutes start to finish, 3 rounds. Keep your Assets in cover.
Additionally I've started playing with 4x4 board configs in Sketch up. I'm going for variable Height layers.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Mini Stealer update! (Heh)

None of the strange ideas we had about you involved your sexual orientation..........-Monkeytroll 12/10/13
I'd put you on ignore for that comment, if I could...Alpharius 2/11/14
I've now started on the two ultramarines. Most of the hybrids are off the spure now too.
@Raskana Thanks! The Restic Deadzone models are really easy to pose, and I had a few extra. Mostly I stick them on the board with blue tack as scenery, but a few of them make a pretty good objective.
Nice thing about DZI is that the nunmber of corpses in a square could coincide with the number of VP an objectives worth. The multiple objective VPs also make it easier to control the flow of a game.
Work on Deathwatch continues, but isn't very pic worthy. I've been batch painting all the Brood toghether. It's been a slog but I'm getting closer each day. Hopefully all together they'll look great.
