i don't have any critique one way or the other, but i like the idea of this list. i think it'd be fun to play against. reasonably competitive and fluffy.

Looks like a freaking awesome list. I love the Ordnance for the Renegade HQ. I routinely get worked over by my friend's IG list that has that little bugger.

You've got most of the best formation options. The only formation I have found that works best for me against Tau are the Helbrute dataslates. The Helfist Murderpack is my best friend right now. I give them Lascannons and lay down ridiculous fire.

6x wyverns is overkill. Unless your meta is only hoards of orks and termigaunts. Yes they are good but there are a lot of units they don't work well against. You only need like 3

I played against this list and found it extremely effective.

I do see where CrownAxe is coming from -- but are not wyverns super cheap? What else could those points be spent on? When I played with WitnessMe4Khorne, his wyverns were very effective, but against a riptide/stormsurge wing list they would be a lot less useful. So the question is, where is the point of diminishing returns. How many opponents are bringing enough infantry to make them worth it -- and how big of a hit is it when you can't use them?
I was at the same tourney as WitnessMe4Khorne, and the wyverns would have been useful in 2 out of 3 of my games. In one of those games, 3 wyverns would have done the job as well as 6.

I've not been a fan of meltabombs in the past, and I think they can be taken off the bikes to free up more points.

Is there a way you can give some more weapons to the command squad to give them more teeth. In our game the chimera was kept in the back line and seemed just a 'tax'. Is there a way that could be made to a 'counter punch' unit. I know in IG lists, you can use a vet squad with 3 PGs, which is a bit deturring. Is there something you can do there?

Are 37 plague zombies to much? Could 30 do the job just as well to free up a few points if you need.

The laser destroyer batteries were money. 75% chance of hitting with STR 9. That's honestly why I still think Phelgm is overkill. The torrent is cheaper and still gives some good punch. That combined with your melta bikes, khorne dogs, and soulgrinders makes me think you have enough anti-armor.

I'm also a big fan of Tzeentch on the grinders. Rerolling 1's to save adds up, and the better the save of the grinders, the better the save gets. If it's night fighting, and your ginder is sitting in a ruin, the ability to reroll ones gets extremely high! Even with just a +1 save on the grinders, it increases the save from 50% to 58.33% damage reduction.

Wow that list looks horrific! I'd keep the wyverns - they are dirt cheap and when you do fight infantry-heavy lists they'll probably let you win the game with minimal effort

Fully Painted Armies: 2200pts Orks 1000pts Space Marines 1200pts Tau 2500pts Blood Angels 3500pts Imperial Guard/Renegades and 1700pts Daemons 450pts Imperial Knights

Wyverns clock in at just a hair over 50 pts each. I could swap one unit out for something else (more rapier laser batteries) however, I found that on Saturday I was generally missing one out of the three shots for the units. With only BS2, it's bound to happen. Also, outside of more rapier batteries, I am not sure what I would take - more hounds?

The torrent is certainly a cheaper idea, but typically if I am looking for something str 6 / ap 4, I am looking for a mob killer, which the wyverns already provide. The phelgm is there to provide a threat against MEQs that don't have to take away from the rapiers focusing on armor. I could see swapping these out for more warp-gaze, but generally want to keep at least one pie-plate as it generally ensures that the other two will have twin-linked and shred per the formation rules.

37 plague zombies might be a bit - but they are 3 points each for a fearless 4+ fnp unit and served me well with tying anything up that snuck into my back lines (i.e. Dreadnought in a drop-pod / had a FW Wraith Knight DS right next to me.)

Ordnance HQ is kept cheap, in armor, and relatively doing nothing because it's his bonus that allow the wyverns within 12" to shoot into close combat. I think I only had him fire once in the tournament as he was generally kept out of range and under the radar like any good coward. Didn't die once.

Meltabombs might not always be worth it, but they are so cheap (10 in entirety) that I just can't justify not taking them. It gives the bikers something to do if the regular melta fail.
