1) IIRC the siege breaker and the MoS can't give the bonuses to the quad mortars.

2) I don't see the point of the Spartan in this list other then a stupid expensive transport that is being taken for the sake of having a spartan in you're list. They are tougher Land raiders, nothing more

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

Realized that coils prevents me from running both because of the consul limitation, so changing that around, but the consuls can absolutely join the artillery and confer tank hunter and the +1 to their weapon skill from the cognis signum.

As for the Spartan, can you think of a better way to deliver a 20 man tactical squad and that praetor? A tougher Spartan with four las cannons.

other that maybe another dread I don't know what I would replace the Spartan with.

You are right with the MoS, however, the seige breaker's special rule limits his buff to infantry: "Art of Destruction: The Siege Breaker has the Tank Hunter and Wrecker special rules applied to all of their own attacks, and also confers these rules to the ehavy weapon shooting attacks of any Infantry unit they join."

Walk and run the 20-man blob up Seriously, Spartans for tactical squads is even more of a waste then spartans for death stars. If you're worried about durrability take an apothecary and run him in the squad. As for replacing the spartan, any number of dreads or other squads would probably do better imo.

The quad mortar team is a combined infantry artillery squad, you are the first person to disagree.

You are also the first person I have ever talked to who is not sold on the Spartan.

What is not to love, 4 twin linked lascannons, 5 hull points carries 25, and a friking flare shield.

I agree on the spartan; there are very few models that can kill AV15 with melta immunity. The funny thing is you actually have those things, in melta bombs and grav guns. So cudos

it's unit type is artillery though, so RAW you would give your bolters tank hunter If I understand how artillery works correctly.

As for the spartan: a super expensive transport for what is typically a super expensive death star is not an "amazing" unit in my book. Personally, it falls next to the Sicarius and fire raptor as a unit that is generally great but is over-used for the sake of being told that it's amazing. It's hard to kill, true, but it's still amazingly costly, a huge bullet sponge, and once you know not to shoot at it's front arc (with traditional AT weapons) or to go at it in melee it becomes less of a threat and more of a speed bump. For how many points it costs there are better options to bring in a power armor heavy list like yours.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.
