I'm planning my next GBHL tournament in May, and the points has gone up to 1000 from 600! Utilising the lessons I've learnt at the one I just attended (see other thread), I've drawn up the following list:-

Captain of the Black Guard
4 Black Numenoreans
5 Morannon Orcs with 4 Shield & 5 Spear

Morannon Orc Captain with Shield
4 Black Numenoreans
5 Morannon Orcs with 4 Shield & 5 Spear

Morannon Orc Captain with Shield
4 Black Numenoreans
5 Morannon Orcs with 4 Shield & 5 Spear

Named Wraith on Fell Beast
10 Warg Riders

Shelob

Mordor Troll Chieftain
10 Orc Trackers

This gives me a unit for each flank (Shelob and the Warg Riders) plus a flying Wraith capable of jumping, transfixing, and flanking as necessary, a Troll with the might to counter Heroic Strikes, an archery unit, and three core rock solid shield walls. 3 monsters, 50 troops, break point of 26. A taste of everything, in other words.

So up for debate:- Which named Ringwraith would be best? I've whittled it down to Khamul, The Knight of Umbar, and the Undying, because I want a wraith I don't need to be scared of getting in combat with, and those are the only three with longevity.

Knight of Umbar - 14 Will to start, can match F of any other Hero, and AotSL to retain Will. Khamul has to spend Will to make sure he wins fights/wounds and only retains the Will he loses for fighting to the extent that he causes wounds. The Undying has to spend his 20 Will to (a) fight and (b) as Fate but only gets Will back if the opponent (a) has a caster who (b) casts (c) within 6" of the Undying.

It doesn't have to be an enemy spellcaster for The Undying, but I'm not taking any others myself.

I suspect I'm going to end up going with the Knight of Umbar, purely because he has the fighting power and can engage without losing too much will as a result, but doesn't have Khamul's sorcery impediments. Other opinions gratefully received though!

Sure, I was taking your list into account.
