Hi guys, I only just started painting my army (have about 3 models finished) and I really liked the glowing marble/stone effect that this person did on the base of this sentry pylon where the half-orb base connects to the crescent section.

How would I do that, but in blue instead of green? Fwiw, I'm trying to get a similar effect on the barrel of a necron warrior gun - I primed over the green tube since I'm going for blue effects instead. Thanks in advance!

At about 12:15 Duncan Rhodes goes over the glowing orb effect.

For blue, start with a darker blue base coat and then the next two shades lighter for the transition.

Hey thanks for the links guys, those are awesome, I have one other question though - how would I go about getting the mottled/stone effect ie- the black lines that aren't a complete even blend, and give that streaked stone, or different liquids color liquids being mixed?

Not sure what you mean. Can you be more specific or post a detail of the image?
