I've got a fun tourney next weekend. Tourney rules are: No formations. 1 HQ, 2 Troops, 0-1 Elites, 0-1 Fast Attack, 0-1 Heavy Support

You play with a partner. 2 vs 2. Switch partners each round. The lowest scoring teams up with the highest scoring. (not really sure how that will work)

Missions are a surprise.

So I'm thinking about the following lists. At 800 pts and having a partner, I'm inclined to gamble some. I think a 'balanced' 800 pts could be underwhelming. I've got a bunch of SM models that I can switch out in the second list. The ork list, that's my second army and I'm a bit limited on models. Tourney is next weekend.

I'd say equip your trukks with Shootas, your Orks will be attacking infantry so it's best to double harass them with an infantry weapon. I'd also replace the Burnas with Tankbustas because your list seems slightly lacking in Anti-Tank. Other than that, GORKANAUT WOO! Seriously, it;s actually not that bad of a list.

I like that the bustas have longer range. That could come in helpful. They're also one of the models that I do have.

So, I can drop the burnas and add tankbustas with three bomb squigs. Or I could do one squig, drop the extra armor on the gorkanaut and add grot riggers. Thoughts?

Well you can't take the Mega Force Field I'm afraid.
That's only available to Detachments or Formations chosen from the Ghazghkull book (which this isn't).

You're correct. It's right there on pg 90.

For the record, transports and the units inside can shoot at different targets with no penalty and he already has a chronic shortage of anti armour. I disagree that he should take shootas on the trukk, rokkits are a better option.

Ok. Here's the modified list, removing the MFF for a KFF. After the comments, I'm also putting the tankbustas in a trukk. Pulled out the min squad of bikers to do so. Better?
