So I'm headed to the Alamo GT here in about 2 months and just put in an order to start up the Void Dragons corsairs army I've always thought of. I'd like some opinions on this list. This is my first iteration, and I know it needs some fine tuning. I am starting with a Corsair Raiding Fleet Detachment and an Eldar CAD and Aspect host. Let me know what you think.

Corsair Raiders:
Prince - jetpack, ghostplate, MC'd void sabre, haywire 'nades, shadowfield survivor of the endless darkness (he gets FnP and IwnD and unlocks FnP for all other characters for some points)
Baron - jetpack, MC void sablre, FnP (coterie sky burners - only d6" deep strike)
5 Reavers - jetpacks, haywire 'nades, 2x blasters, Felarch w/FnP, venom blade
5 Reavers - jetpacks, haywire 'nades, 2x fusion guns, Felarch w/Fnp, venom blade
5 balestrikes - jetpacks, 4x dark lances, Felarch w/dark lance and FnP

CAD
Farseer - bike, spear
Farseer - spear
2x3 scatter bikes
WK - 2x heavy wraithcannons, 2x scatter lasers

Aspect Host
5 Fire dragons - exarch w/pike
5 warp spider - exarch
5 Dark Reapers - exarch all starshot&starswarm

So I have MSU all over the place, but I know I am lacking on bodies. Unfortunately I can't bring hornets due to not having them. this would be the best way to go, but I just don't have the $ to get them right now. Prince and Baron tank with the 2++ for their reaver squads who are good against armor with their fusion/blasters and haywire 'nades and the dark lance balestrike squad isn't terrible at it either with relentless dark lances. I will roll to infiltrate using the strategic warlord trait table and if I get it I will put the fire dragons close to make my opponent make a decision quickly at the beginning of the game. I will deep strike the corsair reavers w/HQ's to use the d6" scatter on deep strike plus reckless abandon and assault moves will get me where I need to be.

Let me know the weaknesses and strengths. I do have some things to trade out, but I would like to keep the corsairs in the list. I think maybe just running a corsair CAD is where it's at? Thanks in advance.

I like the list, it looks pretty good.

You hit Corsairs pretty good with this. You could, imho, drop the Eldar and go for a Void Dreamer and another coterie with Scatter-bikes, and more Balestrikes.

This would allow you to select another trait for the army and you could rearrange units to best fit the list.

Although I do like seeing people run more than Spiders or Dire Avengers

Ghostplate is a 4+/6++ but you are already paying for a jetpack for a 4+, you could probably go forcefield for a 4++

Void sabre on the baron is really expensive for a a str 4 attack. You could go venom blade for 2+ poison attack.

you are also paying a lot for FnP on t3 models. The Venom Blades on the squad Felarchs feel like a waste.

Also what guns are you running on the Reavers? Lasblaster? pistols? Splinter?

If you aren't going lasblaster for weight of fire, go pistols or Splinter.

@carnith Sorry I should have made the note that the reavers have lasblasters. I hear you on the price for the FnP, but other than Tau and Eldar (arguably 50-60% of the tournament scene...) there isn't a TON of s6+ shooting that isn't more of a light armor shot. If they want to waste that on my reavers, cool beans for me. The reason for the ghostplate was the built in 6++ for when I roll that dreaded with the prince. Then at least he still HAS an invul save and isn't just flapping in the wind. A forceshield would be nice, but it isn't as good as a 2++ for tanking. Also with running eldar I'm going to be looking for fortune, which would make him SILLY survivable. The void sabre is expensive, but does have rending, which for me makes it worth it over the venom blade as it'll be ap2 at that point so if I'm swinging at a GC and need 6s at least I'm at ap2 instead of ap -. I could drop the venom blades and shift points around. I think it would be nice if I could get the dragons and wave serpent, but I just don't see it happening. If Corsairs could take fast attack venoms that would be the way I'd go, but I don't think they have venoms in FA do they?

The FnP is only given to the Felardch right? if so, It seems like a big 10 point waste for one t3 model with 4+ armor. With the 10 points, you could buy a whole nother reaver right? I also personally believe brace of pistols is the way to go on the reavers.

Lasblasters are nice for a 3 shots, and shuriken catapults are useless. I like the look of lasblasters so im using them, but I will probably try to find two pistols for some guards to give the look of brace of pistols.

If the felarch gets FnP the whole unit get's it, at least that's how I think the wording is. People will run endurance from biomancy and it works the same way. I'll have to check the wording, but I'm pretty sure FnP is a USR that trasfers to the unit. Infiltrate doesn't, but I think FnP does. I also think lasblasters are awesome looking and volume of fire will be the best.

Feel no pain doesnt spread to the squad. The Endurance gives the whole unit fnp I believe, because its in the wording.

Ah I gotcha, then Rage is much better as far as army wide USR. That suchs. Would be coll for the Felarch to tank, but he can't take survivability upgrades (shimmer shield).

I would go for the one allotting Combat Drugs, you might be able to make them T4 or S4.

And you make one roll for the entire army which means if you roll a 6, you'll have 2 buffed stats across the board

A decent combo is Baron with Shadowfield for tanking. Also how drugs work is like this, whatever the prince is smoking, the rest of the group smokes as well. So if you roll the coveted +1T, then all squads taking drugs get +1T as well, which is awesome, but you might get something like +1I, which isn't as useful as not much is going to be going faster than you anyways at I5.

The best artifacts IMHO are in the Harlequin and DE books. Mask of Secrets is amazing combined with shriek. That plus a void blade is still less than Shard.

Thanks kholzerino, good points all. Might be funny to have a Corsair prince with Cegorach's Rose wouldn't it? Corsair with a harlie artifact, just wonderful. If that pesky (one relic per model) rule didn't exist a model with the armor of misery and mask of secrets might be the most troll-tastic shrieker in the game aura-ing a -4ld, but alas I don't think that'd work.

Good points all! I have my 25 guardian models in (though one is an old metal eldar model I don't think I'll use so I might have to steal one of my dire avengers to get all 25 modeled up with their awesome jetpacks. I'm hoping that I'll get my resin stuff this week, but I'm not holding my breath. I am going to drop my guardian bodies into some purple power to strip their paint and take them apart for corsair reassembly. Stay tuned for some pics.
